I have 35% and want to go 20%, but yours looks darker than mine

edgerider2002 02-26-2010 12:17 PM

its cloudy today and my phone makes it seem darker

andddrew says 02-26-2010 12:25 PM

looks great i like it a lot. i have 35% too :)

crawly1025 02-26-2010 12:42 PM

Looks great. Mine is blacked out in the front and back. 15% limo tint on the sides and 15% on top of the factory tinted glass in the back. keeps prying eyes out. :)

korey89 02-26-2010 12:48 PM

limo isnt 15, its 5

that is because it is still wet

gts007 02-26-2010 01:52 PM

Nice, whered you go for it?

And if you ever get pulled over by CHP, roll down your windows real fast while you're pulling over and hope that he doesn't catch it :approve:

vansnxtweek 02-26-2010 03:21 PM

Looks so so good on the white..much better than 50%.

brianjwilson 02-26-2010 04:13 PM

Not bad. 35% is a little light for my taste but being in California it is probably still pushing it.
I put 28% on the front windows of the Subaru and it is about as light as I would like. Just dark enough to be more comfortable and look better, but not so dark that it attracts attention.

Ragos 02-26-2010 04:59 PM

Looks pretty nice man did you do it yourself or did you have it done?

i got it done at tint pros. they are at first and mckinley. they originally did my tint almost 3 years ago and i never had any problems unil recently. my driver side door was starting to bubble but he has a lifetime warranty. so yesterday he fixed that window for free and only charged me $30 to redo my passenger side door.

ya this is pushing it for here. ive thought ive read somewhere that the law was no darker then 50% but then i was talking to my cousin who is a cop, and he says technically your not supposed to have any tint on the side windows.

Tys 4x4 FTW 02-27-2010 11:57 AM

looks good man

i love how tint looks darker when its cloudy out lol

last time i got pulled over for it, my tint measured at 13% in the front lol. i need to go darker.

edgerider2002 02-27-2010 11:58 AM

ya its even started to get a tad bit lighter today since its had a day to dry so far. how exactly do they measure your tint?

I'm curious as well

atrocity 02-27-2010 12:26 PM

your 35 looks so much darker than my 20. Looks really good with white

brianjwilson 02-27-2010 01:32 PM

You measure it with a light meter, a lot of officers have them.
With 35%, you're probably looking at 25% light transparency would be my guess.

I believe that is right, in California you are not allowed to have any form of window tint up front.
Most states have a 35% film law, or 35% total light transparency which normally means 50% tint on the window.
