***rear Brake Help Does This Go Here?***

Hey I am replacing my rear shoes and all the hardware. This thing in the red circle was snapped off on both sides and not attached to anywhere. I was wondering if it goes where I put it.

Thanks,
Roach

the spring on the cable looks right, but yeah the bottom part of the thing held buy the yellow spring should be contacting the teeth on the adjuster wheel. does that even make sense?

my self-adjuster cables have long rusted in 2. i just manually adjust the brakes every spring/fall tire change. i had a leaking r.r. wheel cylinder this spring, was able to rebuild it while still on the truck. so far-so good.

I've never had break issues....and I've replaced front and rear on my 97 ranger...front and rear on a 96 SL2 saturn and my old 90 nissan pickup...if you do it one at a time you can allways just copy what the otherside looks like...you don't even need to bleed your breaks...you just have to compress them back with c clamps or any other type of clamping tool...wrench or what not...keep that in mide for next time.

You DO have to bleed the brakes if you replace the wheel cylinders like I did.

If you put all new hardware back in there and self adjusters make sure you back up quickly a couple times and stop quickly so they adjust.
