Got the Superlift finished tonight...

Finally finished up the lift tonight. Here's a couple not-so-good night pics!
The wheels/tires are temporary. The tires are the original BFG's off my truck and the wheels are new. They are the setup for my bro-in-laws lifted XJ. I'm going to drop the truck off for an alignment tomorrow, and I get my new tires on Saturday morning. I was going to go with BFG A/T's again but found out they're backordered and they don't expect any production for at least 60 days.
I'll get some better pics up if I get everything ready on the weekend!
Most of the install went okay... but there were quite a few issues that came up. No time to post them now, gotta get to bed!

seed60 03-16-2010 09:35 PM

Hell yeah!

2007BlackFX4 03-16-2010 09:36 PM

dam that thing is pretty high up there... might just look high because of the small tires but either way looks good man. cant wait to see it with the new tires and wheels.

FULLSCALE 03-17-2010 04:59 AM

Thanks guys... yeah the small tires probably have a lot to do with it looking higher. With those tires I've got about 39" to the bottom of the flare, front and rear.

bonez 03-17-2010 07:44 AM

wut size are those tires?

ranger_1999 03-17-2010 08:49 AM

prob 32's

r0ng5 03-17-2010 08:52 AM

shouldn't you get the tires first before you get the alignment? anyways, it looks really good.

mwood1985 03-17-2010 09:05 AM

what kinda tires are you getting? and lets see some daylight shots

dixie_boysles 03-17-2010 09:22 AM

ur truck is going to look exactly like biltrite bullies

freddie 03-17-2010 09:34 AM

Your truck looks perfect in those pictures. I love black w/DSG Fx4 Lvl 2's.

I'd love to have something like that for a DD

RazorsEDGE 03-17-2010 11:07 AM

Great lookin truck man!

The tires in the pics are 31s. I'll have my 33s on Saturday morning so I'll get some new pics up sometime after then! I don't have the truck here with me, it's at the shop ready for an alignment or I'd get some today!

Tires won't affect the alignment... I wanted to get it done first on the old tires instead of brand new ones as the shop is 30-40km away that I took it to!

My truck will be pretty close to Biltrite Bullies'! I've had this planned out for quite a while though as well, it just kind of turned out that way. It was originally going to be a BL but when I stumbled upon this Superlift for sale so cheap I changed it up. There are still quite a few differences though.. I have black headlights, painted DSG flares and my wheels will be 15X10's by the end of the weekend!

Oh, and the tires I'm putting on are 33x12.50 Duratracs.

r0ng5 03-17-2010 06:44 PM

tires DO affect alignment (if they are different sizes), just don't want you to be wasting your money.

mwood1985 03-17-2010 06:47 PM

i like the look of duratracs. just had a buddy get that size im still trying to get him to join R-F and he wont do it :grumpy: on his edge and hes itching to try em offroad

How so? I could understand if you were changing to just a different size on the front or just on the back...

r0ng5 03-17-2010 09:49 PM

no, alignment is not just aligning front and back (the back is always aligned due to a solid axle). Alignment is how... balanced and straight and 'aligned' your tires/wheels are on your truck. If you are aligned for 31's and then going to 33's, you are changing the angle of your control arms; therefore, you are out of alignment, which was set when you were on 31's. But if you've done it already, and you're going to put bigger tires later... you just wasted some money...

RLong31 03-17-2010 09:56 PM

^^ Agreed.

2007BlackFX4 03-17-2010 10:32 PM

are those pink headlights or is that just the camera being stupid?

t5cents 03-17-2010 10:38 PM

as long as he doesnt touch the t-bars after he gets it aligned it wont change the angle at all...

FULLSCALE 03-18-2010 05:35 AM

No pink headlights, just the camera! I still don't see how larger tires will affect alignment.
Putting larger tires will lift the truck straight up... it won't affect control arm angle.
