If you want it to save your life don't do it yourself. Cause I bet 80% of you don't know two things about cage design. Take it to a know fab shop and pay for it to be done right. Or spend a few months researching and finding the right way to build it. But its just my .02 its your life not mine.

You know what I meant Chris. I was saying not to buy an off-the-shelf weld in kit as they are mass produced, and, like everything else mass-produced, quality is sacrificed. I meant by the "do it yourself" statement more along the lines of "have it built right," whether you can do it on your own or have to take it in to be done. Sheesh.

so I added some more more dimped died plating to fully tie the cab into the cage, light rack should be finished up sunday and mounted it will be filled with 4 hella ralle 4000's (2 pencil, 2 Euro beams) the floor still need to be plated and rino lined, and my tube work could use some paint, but the truck is drivable and everyone is jocking it so im stoked.

Man that is incredible! Do you have any good resources for learning about building cages and such?

And how about some pics of the whole truck?

years of reading "dezert-rangers.com" and going out with fellow desert people I have absorbed sooo much knowledge, but don't know nearly as much as I'd like. I'll take some pics of the truck tomorrow. after I install my 95amp alternator mine took a **** on me and drained my Optima red top.
