had the tint re-done

so when i bought my truck it had 15% tint on the front windows and the stock privacy tint on the rear sides and back window.

i hated how much you could see in from the back. so a buddy i know that owns a tint shop did the rear ones for me fo freeeeeee!

limo tint over the stock privacy.

just shows the difference here..

more tomorrow :)

also, the lighting in the pic exaggerates how well you can see in. but still, in certain light it was pretty bad.

gonna go darker on the front windows too and do probably 50% on the windshield.

he just didn't have time today

I hate how people use the term limo tint. What percentage, 5%?

On my sport trac I had 15% on the front windows, and 5% over the rear factory tint. I loved it. You could see through the windshield from the back, but barely. From one side to the other, not at all. You couldn't see anything that was back there. But everyone who rode in back complained about it being really dark, mostly at night. Whiners. I did 15% over factory on the F150 and nobody has complained about sitting back there. It is still nearly impossible to see all the way through the back windows of the F150 but it's much more comfortable inside.

sorry lol. 5%. figured more people would understand that :p

and yeah, so far its great during the day. keeps it way darker in the truck.

a bit hard to see out at night. but i'll get used to it.

i mainly wanted to do it so that you can;t see my sub and amp in there. even with your face pressed up against the glass you CANNOT see in haha

Ah well at least you didn't say "tints". lol
I don't recall it being that bad at night, but I tend to use my side mirrors the most anyway.
I wouldn't go darker than 15% up front still myself. Any darker and it's too dark for making sharp turns at night on unlighted streets. And when it's bright out, you get a lot of reflection on the side windows from all the light coming in the windshield. Some of the guys at work have 5% on the front of their work trucks and having it that dark is more bad than good, at least to me.
I still haven't put anything on the windshield, it looks cheesy to me and looks like a drug dealers car. lol
Lumar sells an 80% vlt film called air blue that has really high heat rejection and you can hardly see that it's there, but nobody around here has it.

I wish getting around inspection wasn't such a hassle, I'd love to have 15% all around.

Looks good! I thought the window was open in the pic.. lol that's quite a difference. I've still got stock privacy glass on the back and 15% on the fronts. Mine looks darker on the back than yours though...

I can't stand driving a car without tint. It feels like you're baking when the sun is out, lots of glare on overcast days, etc. Even 30% window tint (which is pretty light) makes driving so much more comfortable, and keeps you feeling so much cooler in the sun. Even if it weren't for the fact that it keeps you so much cooler, I can't stand wearing sunglasses so the reduced light is a big deal. I wear sunglasses most of the time when I'm flying to reduce glare but I hate it, sunglasses give me a headache and mess with peripheral vision. Besides, eyes work better in the dark than they do in bright light anyway.

I like darker window tint in back to keep things out of sight too. I don't have to worry about someone walking by and seeing a computer, gps unit, or camera sitting on the floor in back.

I'll never own another car without tint. Just like Brian said, I bake in cars without tint now.

i love it. improves the look of the truck greatly. and makes the front tint appear a bit darker because of how dark it is in the truck now.

ive had an integra tinted up 5% on the back 3 windows and it was nice but not keep everybody from looking at your shiz nice. if people want to peep in they will, if theives want your stuff they'll have it. i despise 30% on drivers windows turns everything that [email protected] volkswagen blue color when you look out them, and i never really noticed tint keeping any car cooler, but i guess on a triple digit day with a black interior you wouldnt. rather just have windows that show me the world and put up a sun visor or park in the shade.

Tyler that looks so much better.

I'm really considering throwing some light tint on the windshield. I have 20% on the driver and passenger then 20% over stock all around the back

idk, with the 5% over the stock privacy tint even putting your face right up to it and trying to look in the back windows is impossible. you can barely see the other windows on the other side of the truck lol

and in the front you can't make out whats in the dash whether its a stock headunit or not

that works for me

do it man. my friend that did the tint has tint on all his windshields. 30% on his car. 50% on his wives. the 50 would probably be enough for me. below that it becomes obvious that you have tint on the windshield and makes you a target for cops

blah blah blah, that's what I hear. lol

Of course all the homies wanted to look in your integra, probably looking for stereo equipment and chrome fire extinguishers or something. haha
Point is, even with 20-30% tint you can walk by a car and the interior doesn't stand out, things in the back seat don't jump out at you unless you stick your face on the glass. With 5-15% over factory tint, you can't see much of anything back there if you tried.
If you're 30% window tint is blue than you probably used cheap *** film.
The overall temp of the car sitting out in the sun for hours may not be significantly different after everything becomes heat soaked. But driving with the A/C on, there is a HUGE difference between the sun hitting you through a tinted window and a non-tinted window. I can put my hand in the 'sun' next to my side window on a hot day and not feel warm at all, but I move it under the windshield and it feels significantly hotter.

I would go with the lightest possible, if at all. For me, the only reason to do it is heat rejection. The last thing I want is for it to be obvious, it could be a big deal in an accident as far as liability. 30% is definitely obvious.

yeah, i want it for that, and for driving without sunglasses. if the sun is at the rear of the truck i dont need them. but any other position and i usually need to wear them. they would be completely unnecessary with the tint on the windshield. i cant stand wearing sunglasses and driving. have to turn my head further when checking over my shoulder. not comfortable.
