I know some of you...

Have been waiting for me to post pics of my truck during the day... So here they are... It was really nice today! I didn't really do much to the truck other than wash it.. I also picked up the mothers mini polishing ball and the liquid compound stuff to clean aluminum...

I was given some bed rail covers from my buddy with the lifted 98 Red Rocket, and they were oxidized as ****... So I paid about $30 for some cleaner stuff and spent a few hours working on just the one rail for now... Problem is is the drill dies after about 35mins or so with the speed set on 2 (1=torque, 2=high speed) and the mothers ball stops cutting into the aluminum from how dirty the rails are so I have to constantly take the ball off and wash it and let it dry.. Anyone know of any better ways to clean my rails up? I might actually take them to my hs and take em to the polishing wheel in the metals shop, but that's a maybe... Any other ideas on shining them up real good?

In the pics below, that's not lighting that's making them look white on the rails on the left... That's oxidation lol

I think i'll try this weekend when I go home...

Only other reason I have to stop is to clean the ball... It won't polish if it turns too black

Nice mudflaps!

No one wants to see your truck.

You should put on new allen head stainless harware on that dinky looking "prerunner" light bar.

lol.

Definitely use mothers mag and aluminum polish, with the powerball it should be clean that right up, I know how it is keeping that ball clean to it sucks.

Dont you hate when your polishing with that stuff when it fling the black nasty polish at you lol.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Jason, What do you mean you used bathroom cleaner? Kinda curious! I think I just might clear coat them! I made a entertainment cent out of aluminum when I was in high school and clear coated the tops and it never oxidized on me which was saweet!

Matt, I've got a better built toolbox, I ripped the logo off but it left the foamy sticky tape and I've been too lazy to go take it off haha

bathroom cleaner, you can find it at wal-mart. its like soap in a can. just sprayed it on there and let it sit for a while and came back with some paper towels and really scrubed the crap out of it. then i used the powerball with a plug in drill and just put the polish on the metal and started real real slow and worked my way up to just running all over it at full speed on the drill, got the diamond plate really sparkly. wear safety glassed too, that stuff hurts in your eye!

I'm ALMOST level again... Next weekend I'm trading Austin (98 red rocket lol) his 2in blocks for my 2.5in blocks... It'll help bring him up and take me down... That will almost level me out! I'm stoked...

Gimmie a minute to have shane send me the pics we took today... There will be another thread with pics so watch for it!
