He's going to need the wing. I just talked to him and based on the info he gave me the Turbo on that thing is a Garrett 30R. Those are capable of 525whp on meth and 420whp on pump.

Yeah me and john had a nice talk and that evo is FAR from stock.. i am pretty stoked to get her up to potential. rough idle is poor tune for altitude and the cat they put in.

With some love and work she will roll hard.

Jp do you know what kit it is that im running?

I posted pics on evo forum:

Watch the vid again, it surged because he disconnected the vacuum line from the bov so that it wouldn't work.

Yes I know. I'm showing you that you don't need to be making 40psi of boost to experience surge.

I bet it's a fun car, but you just pissed off the 'Ranger gods' for trading it on an import. They almost understand if the Ranger gets traded on a Full size truck, but an import... You better watch out.

You have any idea what that would cost? Ranger body part costs are a fraction of what oem Evolution body parts are. Besides, the lip he has will help force more air to the FMIC and enable him to get more power from the engine.

"sports car" you'd probably be okay with. "Import", you know it's been to hell and back.

Evolution VIII's came with no intercooler protection from Mitsu

It's actually a really smart mod as the intercooler alone goes for 900-1400$, and his being HKS, is closer to the latter. Not to to mention, a busted intercooler causes a boost leak and causes the car to run like crap at the very least, possibly damaging the engine depending on how aggressive the tune is.

I used a similar type cover to protect the bottom open part of my radiator in my truck as Ford forgot that too.

Lolz I love how hate full everyone is of an import class.

Almost makes me want to quote everything thread about a ranger going "FAST". I believe everyones words around the idea if you want to go fast buy a car that goes fast and not waste the money on a ranger. Correct?

I would honestly love to see a single ranger come close to the EVO on the track or in a slalom.

Obviously off-road is a different story.

I wanted fast. now i got fast. apperently i found out i got faster than even i knew about.

so please go one and hate =]

LOL, dont get me wrong i love the evo's, but there is such a thing as JY's lol. You can find some evos hit in rear and get the front bumper and fenders for half the cost. Also when your talkin a 1-4 hp gain over stock, that bumper is not goin to make that much difference, There again its just my opioion the those cars look better stock unless you do a wide body or something along that line and do it right where it looks like it woulda came factory that way. It can be done and has been, Ive done several import body kits. It take alot of extra time and effort. I just hate to see nice cars like those with kits just kinda half way just thrown on there, that was my point.

1-4hp gain over stock huh? I'm glad I don't tune on your dyno. What I posted above, went right over your head.

Oh no not the Ranger gods. They will descend upon you with their rattling timing chain and crappy manual transmission wrath on your evo.

I'm not hating on import, I just don't like the car, that's all. You posted on a public forum, expect mixed opinions, lol.
I just deleted a bunch of what I typed because it would probably **** you off.
Short story: That's a lot of money for something with a lot of mods, that has idle problems, and has been hammered on, no doubt. I'm sure it's fast, and what you want, so that's good. Have fun with it...

Timing belt actually, and the transmissions are already bad enough he doesn't need any bad luck with that already.

HAHAHAHA!!! IDK how in the world you can tell a HP gain from a bumper on a dyno and no it dont dyno anyways. I used to be that person that thought by adding all this aftermarket stuff made a huge diffrerence and though some of it does a lil at times but come on dude you gotta be kidding me, theres no way THAT bumper is gonna make THAT much difference on that car, been there seen it done it. I cant tell you how many dollors ive wasted over the yrs on that stuff and though i did like it but it wasnt helpin all that much in the HP department, now if ya wanaa start talkin about engine add on's and CPU upgrades then ok i can agree with that, but until then show me where on a DYNO you can see a difference from a front bumper.

Maybe I need to clarify idle problems.

Car is tuned for no cat.

Dealer put cat on. Car isn't expecting extra back pressure effecting idle.

Car will be getting a cat delete a new tune in the coming weeks lol.

Gees you people and your arguements.

I loved the ranger. And I love the evo. I kinda wanna buy a 2wd ranger for a prerunner project.

Like everyone has said rangers aren't perfect. Trannys are ****. Slaves suck *** you all know it. Overall the truck is under powered.
