Stuck the Super Duty

Stuck the Super Duty
I had a chance to try out the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlars in the mud this weekend. Suffice it to say that they're a lot better than the stock Conti-Tracs! But if you've ever read any of my posts before, you know I'll end up stuck.
Just once though...
Although it's getting more difficult to extract since I can now get "stuck-er". Enjoy these couple of pics. The video is in two parts. The extraction is in the 2nd video.
I got stuck first. My back tires were hung up in a rut and the front tires coupldn't pull me out.
Brother in law on Baja Claws tried to get me out, but ended up stuck, too!

Lol you have ***** to wheel in a truck that heavy! And your brother in law has ***** for even attempting to pull your truck out with his half-ton. Ha I would have guessed that he would get stuck too. Did he even budge your truck?
It seems that usually when a truck this heavy gets stuck it usually leads to a tractor or a medium duty truck with a winch doing the extraction. Lol

I love Chris's stuck pics!
HAHAHA freddie....I used to be one of the tuggers who always got my buddy in his '99 stroker on 8" and 38's out when we went and played. Never quite figured out the whole diesel wheelin' thing...seemed he was always in the wrong gear and never bought good tires.

You're right about heavy duty extractions! When I had a 2wd Ranger, ATVs, people pushing, or a quick tug from another truck would usually be enough. Setting a 3/4 ton truck on the frame requires a lot more pull. One of these days I'll really stick my truck bad and that 2wd tractor ain't gonna do it.
I don't mind going out and finding some mud or hitting up some [wide] trails. I do take extra care to clean & flush the undercarriage. That sand gets in everything. And I usually keep some towels one the floor to keep all the nasty from staining the interior.
I use 4 Low quite a bit. 3rd gear + Low Range gives enough wheel speed, and also give the flexibility to drop a gear or two if I need to slow down. 1st gear + Low Range in my truck is extremely low. I can barely get 3-4mph taching 4000+ RPM.
The only reason I wasn't in Low Range when I was trying to rock the vehicle out wha because reverse was too low to do much.
Don't get me started on the Ford OEM limited slip rear axle. I do, however, feel like my truck has good ground clearance even for stock suspension.

No kidding!
So far, I've spent about 4 hours cleaning: jacking up wheels, cleaning brakes, hosing mud out of the bed, cleaning the frame and chassis, etc. But it's still not as good as I'd like it to be. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I'll finish and the truck will be up to my standards of clean.
My dad asked me the other day in an sarcastic tone, "So was it worth it?"
I said, "Heck yeah! I got some pretty cool pictures and a decent video." Once my truck is all cleaned up, I can look at the pics and videos to help stave off the urge to go wheelin'.
But, eventually I'll hit it again and the cycle will start over.
