Just a couple new pics

Just got my F-250 back the other day. Built Trans finally came in after i blew up the old stock one. Anyway by accident my trucks were parked together and got a few pics.

This is for all the Fireman. Please Remember to always have a spotter when backing up. We had another companies engine back into us on a scene because he decided to back up instead of pulling forward and ran into us. We were parked off center and he could see us in his mirrors and was talking to us before he got in his own engine and backed right into us. We laid on the airhorns and sirens but he never took notice.

No need for criticism on his driving. He knows what he did and how he was wrong and everything. He is a fireman of over 20 years.

nice trucks, wow thats too bad about your engine. Things happen though, simple mistakes, and everyone has done them. There was a guy some years back in the county where I live who tried to back up a full size engine into the small garage bay for the brush unit. Not pretty. Thats what insurance is for .

Hows the diesel life treating you? :)

We get in some serious trouble if we don't use a spotter, even backing the rescue out of the hospital or on scene. Lt's of 25yrs will gladly get out of the truck than deal with an accident...and we have about 1 "accident" (someone backed into something, minor collision, etc) per dept per month. So it's a really big deal. I mean they have an 8hr class for us on "driving safety and scene safety" :)

Stay safe brother!

You paid? I think DE is one of the best jobs besides station LT. All you do is drive..and pump!!! Then again I like riding rescue and mixing it up, so I wouldn't want to do DE just yet...

Nice truck, Sucks about the Engine....That was an expensive mistake....was it another Engine that backed into you or a ladder, rescue etc....looks like the impack was high

Main thing is everyone was ok! Weve had a few accidents in our station like that, we were doing driver training on our new Quint (1st week we had it) and a new guy backed into a telephone pole and foled the diamond plate in the back, the kicker is there was a spotter (supposibly)...Stuff happens!

i dunno about fighting fires, but i driive city bus (30 and 40' long). in training, we were told these three rules.
1. never back up
2. if you have to, get a spotter
3. if no spotter is available, circle check your vehicle is clear of all obstructions
4. always back up at walking speed

at least no one was hurt in the incident right?

oh yea, trucks look good.

About the engine. Another Pumper hit us with his ladder when he didn't pay attention while backing up as we were parked offset so he could see us in his mirrors. It happens sometimes. Yes everyone was ok. But it could have been worse had engines not been built so stout. I was in the officers seat and honestly thought the ladder was coming through the window had it not hit the sheet metal and split. I hit the sirens and the driver laid on the air horns. No use because it happened so quick.

Thanks for the compliments on the trucks. I like the both a lot and have put too much money into them. Especially the F250.(Engine mods are expensive haha.)

yes we do. i'm in a temp posittion and make 75% of what my fulltime brothers/sisters do. by the end of this contract, a fultime driver will be at $25/hour. the pay is excellent for the amount of work. the only bad thing is dealing with the public and their negative attitudes. and that is only maybe once a week. if you can get past that, it's an excellent job. i love what i do. the eye candy that gets on the bus is awsome!!!

sorry, i don't mean to hyjack the thread. like i said, nice trucks. bummer about the engine...

Yup paid firefighter... 24 on 48 off... But we still have shift workers that come in... I'm still young, 25, so i want to fight fires!! We run an engine, heavy rescue, and a squad (F450 36ft goose neck for structural collapse and trench..) Right now I'm riding seat on the rescue, doing all med and MVA that don't need water... But we roll with the engine to any house fire and MVA with fire.... so it works out good!!! Love my job!!
