The huffer isn't going on anytime soon...that's a mod for another day down the road. JBA's are the plan for when it does go in though. I still have the sight of completely ripped up output shafts that Jared posted a looooong time ago with his Explorer Express kit and his '03 L2 twin stick. I managed to blow up an M5od-r1 when my truck was stock on 32's.
Chris....I may have access to one of those extention housings...as well as all the other associated pieces. Only problem is the extention housing goes with the transmission, and the linkage goes with the case. STUPID if you ask me.
Mossy....I was ROTMFF reading your 'headline' under your name!!

UPDATE:
Well.....after a couple hours of comparing the two engines in-depth, I've determined the only real differences is the new engine has a 'stop' plate on the end of the driver side rail where the '01 engine has a valve with a vac line going to it. I need to investigate this. And the new engines harness is a auto trans harness, so that's a no biggie converting it to manual...I'll just do what TrePaul did for his auto-to-manual swap. All my wires for the manual that I need are already there on the auto harness....I plan on making it look completely OEM...so no hack job.
The second and last real difference is the MAF sensor pigtail. I need to compare the wires in the schematics for both year trucks to determine if I can do this or not. First guess: simple cut cut, butt butt, and it'll work.
There's little differences throughout....slight sensor design changes, slight differences in hose routing, things of that nature. I'm sooooo happy I don'thave to carry over the entire harness....because if I'd be doing that, I'm in for like 6 hours of cleaning to make the old harness look good! lol.
Timeline:
Fri: Roll truck out of shop for cleanup; Inspect and compare both engines wiring harness, cooling lines, vac lines, etc.
Sat: engine bay, frame, surrounding area clean up; pick up exhaust gasket; clean parts that are to be reused(cooling hoses, vac lines, harnesses). Make/find/buy a spreader bar and possible engine drop Sat night. If new engine is in the air tonight, swapping on the ASP UDP.
Sun: Engine drop-in and rehooking up all the lines, pumps, etc. MAYBE have it running Sun night.

Thanks Aaron...gonna look 'em up.
Engine bay is all clean and pretty now...you know, I forgot there was DWBlurple paint in there! lol....just gotta pressure was the gunk on the frame and the trans, then she'll roll back into the shop. But before she rolls in, Gotta get the tractor from the neighbor to swap engines on their tires. Makes it sorta a pain because the legs on the hoist aren't wide enough to put the engine on the ground, then go pick the other one up....so i'll make the tractor do that. lol. Also got alot of the associated hoses and wire harnesses all un-mudified and looking brand new just like the engine that's going in.
Had to carry over the fuel supply hose from the old engine because the disconnects are different.
Pics later...I'm tired.

No. It's my little brothers old hood....it's steel or aluminum....it weighs about 1/3 of what my fiberglass powerdome hood weighs....so it's the temp engine bay cover since it's going on and off and on and off while I'm working in the bay while the truck is outside. Sure as hell beats a tarp.

LOL! I know this! This time around, I've decided not to be distracted.
And Mike...I'm waiting on my engine hoist spreader bar to get here. Sucks...no scrap yards are open on Sundays, and I the scrap I do have just isn't strong enough to hold the weight. I'm ready to throw it in right now though.

Im no beer snob, but ive always hated PBR. I go to enough punk shows to know its a staple there because its cheap, but if it tastes like crap it doesnt matter. id rather drink a coke and look like a wuss.
Am i the only one that collects most of the oddball empties that ive had?
(Saint Arnolds was awesome, too bad i cant find it anymore!)
