HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

STFU, you obviously have never driven a lowered truck and don't act like you know it all about the pros and cons about driving one.

and your speak about a stock truck is more manly, sorry buddy but your driving a ranger how manly is that? If you want manly you would be driving a f250 or bigger.

****ing Canook.

I don't bottom out on speed bumps, I can drive down dirt roads to go camping, and it rides just as comfortably as stock. If your buddy wishes he never lowered his Ranger, why didn't he just put it back stock. It's not that hard to do.
There are compromises to lowering your truck. you loose some suspension travel, and you can't run over curbs as well, not that thats a good idea anyway. There are compromises to lifting a truck as well. You have to slow down more for corners because of a higher center of gravity, and you have more trouble getting in and out of them, depending on how high you go. Not to mention the loss of stability at higher speeds.
We all do what we like with our trucks, and we all understand, and are willing to accept the consequences of modifying our vehicles for the purposes intended. The more purpose built the rig, the less practical.
Since we all accept the consequences of our actions, why would you enter a thread about lowered trucks, and spout mis-information and bad opinions about something you do not know. We don't dis on lifted trucks, because thats what you like to do, and we appreciate a job well done. Please give us the same respect with our lowered trucks.

Rant over.
well said

Dang, that '89 is killer, I like how you did the IRS so you could lay it out and not chop the bed up completely.

I love being able to do that!
The guy at the motorcycle shop was stunned when we dropped off my friends Katana and didn't need a ramp.

U all have made some good points but i dont condone lowering a 4wd ranger. I have 33's and didnt loose much mpg or come anywhere close to flipping it. I do however feel that if u wanta tear up the street get a car unless u really really like the way a lowered ranger looks. I hate lowered rangers. just my opinion

ive been that guy in the ranger

it went sumthin like this:
roll up to the light next to a mustang, look over to see guy and girl in car. didnt even rev, but the guy rolls down the chicks window and leans over for the smartass comment; "why do you have mustang wheels on that POS ranger?" referring to the mach1's on my 89....
i looked over, eyeballed his chick and replied, "cause this POS ranger makes more power than most mustangs come with from ford."

light turns green and i rolled out sideways thru the intersection while his ***** reverted into his abdomen like a second belly button.

i have a lowered 4x4 and i love it... it probably see more trails then most trucks on this site, i hauled 2 gsxr600, and this thing is a beast at handling, i dont really think lowering took the "truckness" away

You gonna run and tell your friends?

Cars have been done, anyone can go and buy one. Having fun making your own with a truck is much more satisfying.
I would... Hell, I told my friends when I got beat out by a minivan in my old car.

last time i checked, a 2wd sat closer to the ground than a 4wd; therefore he would hafta lower his 4wd in order to get there, no?

i guess my mountaineer isnt lowered either.

Chris you also did alot more work to your suspension than just take the blocks out in the back and uncranking the torsion bars.

I guess yall are right. but it really depends on the car and who's driving as with every race. I was just saying that cars tend to handle better for street use.

If the truck is set up properly and a nice set of tires it can handle better than a car. My 98 dropped 5/6 rode like it was on rails and compared to other cars it handled even better.

yup, but the only work done that changed the ride height was blocks and bars.

guess all the guys with torsion bar minitrucks(mazdas, toyotas) arent really lowered either....
