Icon10 Major mod in progress for the 99!!!! :)

Well after me and Nick (ex90ranger) took a look at my truck we found that is is completely pre-wired for power windows, locks, mirrors, and keyless entry all the way up to the fuse box under the hood with even the 20amp fuse in the spot! So I took a trip to the salvage yards today and found the complete wiring from the kick panels out to the doors, the black bezel's with all the power switches, and the door latches from an 03 ranger with the door lock actuators built in. Got it all for $25! Tomorrow I get the window regulators with the motors. Turns out this will be a pretty cheap mod to convert everything to power! I'm stoked. Just a pic of the parts I have aquired as of today. I'll update this thread when I get the rest of the parts and get it all installed for those that would like to do this mod as well!

Thanks to everyone who posted in my thread and gave me info on this mod!

Mike...I changed my mind lol. It's my baby. I would miss it too much

Well as of today I also have a passenger window motor and regulator, PATS box with keyless entry from behind the airbag, and other misc wires and harness ends I needed. Now only thing I need is one more harness for the driver side and then a driver window motor and regulator

Well got it all finished up today! Was a little less plug and play than I thought. Had to get an entire wiring harness from the driver side up under the dash that runs along the driver side to the rear. Also had to get a new wiring harness for the driver door. Seems that no two things that I would have guessed should be compatible were. Had to get it all out of the same year ranger. Took a total of 4 days working one step at a time. Ran into a couple glitches but all is done and good now! Have two keyfobs and it sure is nice!

There is one con however.....every time I go to burger king I keep grabbing for the window crank to roll it down HAHAHAHAHA. Gonna have to get used to this! Here are some pics. Will have more soon!

Factory harness that runs along driver side floor to the back of the truck. That Big gray box plugs in under the dash

Whole harness that had to be removed. Was a PITA. Had to take the E-brake off to get this thing out.

Keyless entry module. Found on the back wall in between the two jumper seats on the 4 doors. I tucked mine out of the way behind the driver rear jump seat.

Gonna get some caps for the holes. Not about to pay $50 a piece for a whole new door panel from the yards!!!

What am I looking for as far as a pre wired truck? I looked behind my kick panel where the door plug is, there are 3 wires going into the door yet the truck side of the plug has like ten wires? Does this mean I am good to go?

If you are pre-wired, the passenger side kick panel will have a wiring harness connector coming from the door to the truck. The one coming from the door should have only 4 or 5 wires coming into the connector while the dash connector will have almost every spot in the connector full. the driver side is a bit more tricky because you will most likely need the wiring harness that goes all the way under the carpet out to the transmission and transfer case. It has a large 2x2 connector that plugs in under the driver side of the dash. I know I did and it was kind of a pain.
