My Looonnngggg trip to Ohio

my 14 hour trip which would of been both ways turned into a 22 hour trip both ways all for a JDM Rx7 (JDM = Jappense Domestic Market) Now from what i've been told their is only like 15-20 of these cars in the U.S so its a pretty rare car to be driving in 3-5 inches of snow...... its also rear wheel drive which doesn't help at all and he had to drive on the Right hand side of the car lol...

The trip up was fairly interesting i almost wiped out and got creamed by a semi but i some how managed to recover from sliding sideways at 40 MPH i then said enough of that and flipped the 4x4 on. Then the trucker passed me and gave me a thumbs up but damn i about **** myself.

anyways enough of the chatting here are the pics of all the mangled cars.

The First pic is a swift truck that went skidding accross the interstate and was hanging over what appeared to be a small cliff. There was also this HUGE semi carrying a very heavy load behind it im not really sure how he managed to stop in time considering the length and weight this thing was, and to top it off it was on a Hill so kudos to him.

Now this Yellow Chevy got the **** kicked out of him from another semi

Now here is the car its in Excellent condition for a 1992 engine has about 40k miles on it.

Now here is the car in the ditch lol after i though for sure he was going to get creamed by a semi. It all happened after he passed a semi and his *** end got lose and he had literally just passed it so he was about 8 feet in front of it and did a 360 in front of the semi then at the very last second the semi swerved and managed to miss him which led him to a ditch untouched.

luckily enough the ditch only had about 4-5 inches of snow so i was able to pull him out.

all those freeway pics reminds me of a few recent trips up north and back...and around my town. pullin' people out of ditches, wrecked cars everywhere. me rallying through in 2wd with no issues except the occasional drift action. lol.

that rx7 is a bamf. reminds me of a RHD orange silvia here in town. saw it at a jack in the box drive through...yes...right hand drive going through a drive through. lol.

I need to ask....why are you pulling it out by attaching your tow straps to something in the engine bay? What did you hook to?

Probably no where else to attach it to. There are cross members in those engines that are attached right to the frame and are strong as hell.

looks to me like there's a fortune to be made out there in driving instruction.

Glad you made it back without any trouble but damn your friend is a tool for almost killing himself. No winter tires on that rx7 I bet.

One thing I've always wondered, obviously you shift with your left, and you drive from the right, 2 opposites to American vehicles. Is the clutch still on the left or not?

Yeah not sure I'd be able to change and shift with my left. I am right handed and I have shifted when someone else was driving and its just weird.

I'd prefer not to get hit by another semi. Yes, I said another. I couldn't imagine it on an icy road.
