My new (old) v8 Sport trac

I bought this about a week ago. It's tuff finding a used v8 Sport Trac. I had three to choose from. This is an 07 with 18,000 miles. Ford Warranty is good until August, which is plenty of time.

Exterior is brown. Not my first choice, but the other option was a cranberry color:

Here is the interior. The grab handles suck. I just got back from the Houston Livestock show. Looks like people complained, cause the 2010 Explorer has a spot (indention) on the armrest to close the door. The handle is way too low:

Here's the reason I bought it. The same 4.6 3 valve as the stangs:

Nice rig! I like those, but I don't like the interior handles and latches either.
I'm assuming it is full time AWD, or does it have a real transfer case?

^^ Probably his daily driver, so why would he want to tear into the rear suspension while it's still under Ford warranty? Not worth it, unless he plans on puttin it on some bigger meats. Otherwise a solid rear isn't worth what work would have to go into it.

I miss drag racing. It has been a passion of mine for years. I can whoop up on the diesels at the truck shootouts with this truck.

soooo......No lift is in the plans. I've got my Ranger to tear into.

If I had a want list it would be:

Two tone the exterior paint. It has a pinstripe from the factory under the door. I'd love for that to be gone, but follow that line with maybe a copper color.

Besides that (and more realistic), I'm gonna do a first for me and get a new sound system installed with gps nav, and add a back up camera. The back up camera came about from test driving the SHO. It sure was nice. From backing up, to hooking to a trailer, it seems like a worthy mod.

yes. between it, the ranger, and the mach 1 we don't have anything to haul 4 people (in comfort). This will do it and still be easy to park. I used to have a f-150 as a daily driver. I just don;t like the largeness of them. This will work.

Nice trac! I wouldn't mind one of those for a DD, but I like the first gen more due to the SRA. I would want to build it just like I would a ranger lol.

Very nice! I've been thinking about getting one of those. Just don't know if I want a car payment again.

They are rated at 290hp, but you know how that goes. Usually on ford's v8's you can add 20-40hp.

good to know. I was using mustang numbers. if the HP is lower, I wonder if the torque is higher. Or is it reg vs premium gas?
