esentually every vehicle i own is a money pit....based on what ive read on bimmerforums.com the only known issue with the m50 motor is the waterpump because it has plastic impellers that break but i plan to replace it with a metal one soon...( cost 47 bucks for a new one)

Nice car man. I'm not the biggest e36 fan (for a number of reasons; specifically the VANOS system that is made out of plastic) but your's looks sharp. For 10G, Active Autowerks will make it Porsche killer. As a matter of fact, if you peruse the web enough, you could probably throw your own turbo system together. There are a number of good supercharging systems available if you are intersted. Those will probably run you closer to 6G when its all completed. If you are just looking for a DD to cruise in, they are pretty reliable cars. BTW, Lemforder and Mahle make a whole host of replacement parts for your car, check em out. As for me, I'm an e30 guy. I've got an 89 325i that I built a race motor for about 7 years ago. I'm gonna tear her down this summer and build a turbo motor. When she was freshly built, she could do high 13's (which was something back then but nothing now) and all motor. I'm looking at throwing about 8G or so into her (including engine work). I'll keep people posted as to the build up.
