I hydrolocked my engine today.
Almost. Went back to where the jeep was stuck, and went for it. Went thru like 4x, and on my way back, I drove thruogh some water filled ruts and soon as I cleared those my truck stalled. Got out, popped the hood, air filter was DRIPPING with muddy water. Gave it to my buddy with the jeep and had his drive up and down this 3mile long road to air it out. Then came home... close call. No engine light either and everything still works.
The ruts on the right almost hydrolocked me
this hole is about 30+ feet acrossed and almost 3 ft deep
What a fun time that was~! Thought I was in trouble a couple times.... Had I got stuck, I dont think my buddys Jeep could have pulled me out..

got the big clumps off... pulled it on to the driveway, pulled driver side front tire, thats all clean now. Seems i tore the boot for the steering where it connects to the spindle... I know thats torn from my lil adventure since its only got 14K miles on it...
Pulled a stick, about a foot long, and about 1.5 inches in diameter out from around my front t case,.... Along with a tennis ball size rock from on top of my tcase skid plate.
the engine actually stayed relatively clean... now i gotta put the front tire back on, and pull the rear.... and check the rear diff too.. Probably change the oil tomarrow... its not like im going anywhere.
I pull the dipstick and see what the oil looks like.
this 'mud hole' is about 20 miles away. out in the middle of no where.

+1 I thought I killed my 4.0 when I was driving through puddles after a hurricane. That same stupid stunt helped to warp my rotor on that side as well. Oh well, you live and learn. I keep revving it up keep it running, instead I was folding the filter on itself and trying to suck it up the tube. Thank goodness for the metal part to keep it together.
