Pics of my new alcoas and exhaust; My favorite mod so far!
Well here are my new alcoas...
SOrry they haven't been washed..
Yes......I know I'm missing a centercap. I went and cruised the strip friday night in the truck, and had another Powerstroker approach me to BS, and he said he's got a set of 4 centercaps he'll sell me, I'm going to get ahold of him next week.
1997 F250 Powerstroke Crew cab shortbed.
The truck has some work done to it as well.... It has some money into the engine and transmission. The truck has been in Ohio for 3 years, and before that, it was a Texas truck . That's probably the only reason its rust free.
This is my favorite body style truck, probably ever. My dad has a 96 F350, though his is 2wd.
Here are the current mods:
Also, not mentioned in his quote, is the 6 position tuner it has or the exhaust.. He drove it out to the Indy Diesel Nationals, pulling his brother's truck. While he was out there he was about to run a low low 14 second quarter mile. I plan to dyno the truck here soon, as well has make a few 1/4 passes, just to see how it does.
I love it so far. It doesnt seem to get quite the mileage that the Ranger got, but it's also double the weight, and double the room, and probably triple the power. Anyone that has seen it or rode in it has complimented me on how nice of a truck it is, and how clean it is. They are always surprised when they find out its a 97. I knew I could haul more people, but I had no idea how comfortably I could fit 7 people in it, and possibly 8! Lol. We went to Hooter's Saturday night to cheer my buddy up by telling them it was his birthday. We all were able to ride together in the truck, it was a blast.
My plans for it...
I hope you guys enjoy! I know I sure as hell do! Let me know what you think!?

My plans for it...
- strip the tint and have 10% on rear windows and rear side windows, and 15% on the front side windows.
- install the unused stainless headache rack off of my dad's 96 Powerstroke
- different wheels and tires
- buff it!
- possibly install the unused chrome grill guard off of the same truck
- some day it will get the d60 out of an F350
- different rear bumper.. (possibly a cowboy style bumper, but I'm not sure)
- step bars for the GF to use..
EDIT: Added a few more mods that I plan to do - switch the engine over to synthetic engine oil (first cycling synthetic blend through it of course).
- filter bypass kit: pending oil results by Blackstone Labs, these diesels are capable of running 10k+ on synthetic oil while using a oil bypass kit. I am considering the Amsoil oil bypass kit and using Amsoil 15W40, though I might consider Schaeffer's oil.
- High pressure oil system!
- High volume fuel system
I hope you guys enjoy! I know I sure as hell do! Let me know what you think!?

Chris, I looked at a 97 F350 regular cab longbed 4x4 7.3L 5speed, it was lifted and sitting on 36's. it was a nice truck, but the guy wouldn't budge on the price. He wanted a grand less than what I bought this for, but the only thing his truck had done to it was some stacks. Plus it was starting to bubble in a few places.
Glad you like the body style too though! I also considered a 97 F350 crew cab longbed F350 5speed, also black. It was lifted on 35's. It too was a sharp truck, for the same price I bought this 250 for, however, it didnt have but a couple mods, and it had been an Ohio truck for most if not all of its life, and it was starting to show it as well. I figured not only was this truck SUPER clean, but it has a great headstart regarding the engine and transmission work that has been done to it. I liked the F350's, but for maybw $1500, I'll find a D60 out of a F350 of the same style, and BOLT IT IN to my truck and be able to do most of the same stuff a 350 can.
The Ranger is not sold yet. I'm working on a deal right now, I almost had one worked out to trade my Ranger for a 97 Ext cab long bed 250 7 .3L, but decided I wanted the crew cab. My friend's dad wants a Powerstroke, and asked if I could talk to the guy with the diesel about the trade still. Might sell my truck to him, and he will then trade the Ranger and a little cash for the Powerstroke. I still have it, but I shouldn't have it much longer.

Thanks guys.
I like the style of wheel thats on it, but I want chrome, and I want the holes to be larger. I'm considering either an American Racing Baja, or American Racing Mojave, though I have time to decide. As for wheel size, and tire size, I'm undecided. I thought about sticking with 16's, but I really don't know. Those are 285/75r16's on it, and I might bump up to a size or 2 larger. As for the tire, I'm leaning towards good ole trusty BFG A/T's, or possibly KM2's. I like the A/T's because of the traction they provide. We will see. I'm going to take my time deciding on wheels/tires.
I'm glad that everyone likes the body style! Lol

Ah I gotcha.. I have a set of mirrors off of an F350, that mount in the 2 places on the door, but I dont want to drill holes in my door. These mirrors will do lol. When I get to pulling a trailer longer than dad's 22ft boat, aka when I get a gooseneck, I'll get those towing mirrors

Well, I officially hate you, Freddie. You have my exact dream truck. I don't mean that it's close, I mean exact.
97 black crew cab 4X4 short bed power stroke. That would be my tow rig for all my other toys.
I looked for MONTHS to try to find just a crew cab short bed power stroke. the closest I could find was a crew cab short bed, but it had the 460. I figured if I was going to get an older truck, I might as well either get a diesel, or go home.
That's why I got a Chevy, lol.
That truck is sweet, dude. Did I mention that I hate you?
