My buddies SEMA Ranger....you got to check the beast out.

I only got one picture of it right now...but i'm gonna get more for so you all can see this beast. Its 1 of 2 built, its got a 3.0L supercharged with a wipple charger. It comes with some awesome cards you put in the window when you show the truck or sell it. It's rolling on 20 in boss wheels...i love this truck...will get more pics of the outside and interior

we need better pics!!!

the two that were built in like 03 for the 03 show were both red w/ blue graphics...one was an 03 and the other was an 04..both with 04 exterior panels.

I think i recognize that stx....from the 05 show? I might be mistaking it for the green 4.0 w/ the explorer express kit intstalled...westin' truck??

cause its 3.0L.. if you were gonna make a truck like that you think you wouldve used a 4.0L and put on a charger IMO... maybe its just me but i dont see much in 3.0 performance..

ummm, i had a supercharged 3.0 in my 2000 and it whipped the pants off anything remotely near to its class. noone had seen one at that point, especially in a 2000. at shows guys would walk past the lightning to see my truck once word was out.

if i wanted the gas mileage of a V8, id have bought a 4.0l to supercharge. but i wanted my 23 mpgs to stay around the same.

He said 3.0.

Anywho, the truck looks pretty much stock to be besides the wheels?

no, i ran about 20mpg w/ the charger. about 23 w/o. i said i wanted to stay as close as possible to original mpg.

my point was that the 4.0l are V6 power for V8 mileage. not worth it to me. i like V8 power with V6 mileage. hence the whipple in my truck. later i put a V8 in my 88 ranger so i could have V8 power and V8 mileage.

a 3.0 with a whipple will put out roughly the SAME hp as a stock 4.0... plus if you look around at some of the members who had the whipple they have all sorts of problems.

never said anything about it being a good idea or a bad idea. only that i hadnt seen one in a 2000 ranger aside from Dougs. so i made one. and i never had issues with it aside from thermostat problems 3 years after i had completed the mod.

only chipped ones. never ran against a heavily modified 4.0l. most of the ranger guys i hung out with at the time were trailheads so id park and hitch a ride out with them. the only turbo 2.3 i saw was a buddy of mine from valdosta. but he put his in a supercab and had a small amount of boost in it, he didnt stand a chance.
