I've seen a few trucks around here with the 99-00 tails using a 1 bulb (01+) setup, with the tail/brake/turn bulb in the large middle space, and the top space (usually used for just the turn signal) left empty since the middle space is used as brake and turn. You could do it that way without re-wiring.

Well the only reason I like those tails is 'cause I want an amber signal. In heavy traffic a red signal is not as noticable as amber... I'll get the wiring done right someday... just not right now.

Oh I think the amber was 98 only (like mine). 99 and 00 had a red top turn signal instead of the amber top turn signal (which I always thought was strange). When you're ready to trade let me know. I want some 06+. I'm planning on putting an amber bulb in the reverse light space for the turn signal, then wiring up some aux. reverse lights mounted on the bumper to the stock reverse light wires.

yeah, you're right. my buddies 98 has the amber, but yeah, the 99 and 00 don't have that.

'93-'99 Ranger = 3bulb(amber signal)
'00+ Ranger = 2bulb(red stop/turn/signal)

Some 00+ trucks come factory ready for the 3 bulb taillamp harness....others dont. Hers unfortunately, isn't ready for that harness. Plug on the driver side under the tailgate needs to have 8 total wires on the incoming side, then the 3 bulb harness will plug right in. If there's only 5 wires at the incoming side of the plug, then wiring and tapping would have to be done.

As much as I hate ricey lights, I think your tails look good on the truck. Get some clear signals and corners for the front and that'll look sharp!
