My 95 4.0

I dont have my camera cord on me, so these are ones Ive already posted elsewhere.

The 5.0 next to it belongs to the guy I bought it from. He needed money for his turbo setup for the 5.0...I bought it shaved. Since I bought it all we have done is the 2 15"s, kick panels, a new head unit, tach, and fixxed stuff. We put a new amp in it yesterday...Kicker ZR something...It hits pretty hard...Got it to 130.5 decibels. ...I know, my engine bay is filthy.

Hopefully before next summer I will be able to get his old 5.0 stuff for my v8 swap...He is replacing almost everything including a bunch of cobra parts, block, trans, fan, radiator...all of it. Im not in too much of a hurry because my 4.0 currently has about 70k on it, trans has less. Im going to probably swap the seats for explorer seats until my buddy can get around to re-apholstering mine and taking the headrests off. Then Ill worry about a grille and wont do paint until the v8 is ready.

The way he did the math, it should be 2.5 or 3ft per speaker and then 12inches between speakers and the cab where the amp resides...he siliconed around the box where it meets the cut out so there is no airleak...Its pretty sick...Ill take some more pics later, those are just from when we were putting it in.

How did the 18 sound? I want to either do 2 18s or 4 15s...but that will be way later...hopefully after I do a V8 swap.

hm. any rubber boot between the cab and bed? idk how just silicon + mdf would hold up to the metal.....but no pics = not much understanding. lol

and as for the 18...DEEP. thatss why i want one again. i love deep subs over loud ones any day. two 18's would be overkill...but more power to ya if you do it!

.....and this is coming from a guy whos friend has a body dropped s10 with ten 10's lol

There is an acordian boot connecting the bed and the cab...then the box is inside the bed, pushed up to where there is like a centimeter or less of gap between the box and the bed...That is what was filled in with silicone...not as much to keep the sound in as keep the exhaust fumes out because the exhaust is dumped right behind the cab. Ill take pics when i get off work...There are a bunch of holes drilled in the bottom of the bed from previous systems being bolted down...so the fumes would come in the cab if i rolled the windows down...carbon monixide poisoning is not my ideal way to kick the bucket.

After talking to my friend...he said if I do go with more, to just rock 4 15"s they are ALOT cheaper and if someone deos manage to steal them...easier to replace.

10 10"s is just plain ridiculous lol...my buddy had 2 10"s and that **** gave me headaches...my 15"s shake **** without all the headaches...like thunder

i got a question. what kind of boxes are you using? sealed? ported?
my friend with the ten 10's really showed me that it all depends on the box. he had one 15 and it hit way harder than two of my sealed 15's, and he was running 600 less watts than me.

quality of the box > amount of subs.

as much fun as four 15's might be....it'd definitely be more of a hassle to deal with...just consider it

btw, go check out this link

MA Audio MA180XE Subwoofers - Car Subwoofers at Onlinecarstereo.com

run two of those, and itll probably be cheaper than the four 15's you want. or run one ported!

LOL the MSRP is more than I spent on my whole setup....The airspace behind the speakers is sealed...but he kept calling the tunnel where the amp sits a port...Imma call it a sealed box. The tunnel I speak of is visable in the 3rd pic...The towel is covering the amp because we had to saw a little notch in the top of the front of the tunnel to make it fit snug and didnt want sawdust all over the amp. Think we went with this because we didnt have time to do anything elaborate, just enough to make it solid and give it proper airspace.

hm. i cant tell, but is the box divided down the middle? cuz if not, you "might" be able to try runnning aero ports...but idk if there'd be enough room. but the difference between sealed and ported.......

lmao at the guy calling the tunnel a port though. it is by definition a "port", but....not for the subs....

Yeah...I dont think he meant a port in the sense you did...yall are both way more educated on this than me...It is divided down the middle...I cant find the spec on the subs anywhere...here is the only link i could find...They are the second ones... rated at 650rms...Think im only running 300rms to each at 2 ohm...still waiting on my other friend to find a bigger amp for his system...then I get his old amp.

start researching! lol. ive been into audio for over 2 years...and still dont know enough but i can get by....i guess.

once you get a new amp....then you'll really start hittin hard. two 15's sealed only at 300watts per sub isnt much, but once you step up to around 600watts each, youll start having fuun. thats what i ran my two 15's at.

I cant wait...at the moment, Ive hit up to 130.5 decibels...This black kid I work with made me turn it down because it was too much for him...He has 2 12"s in a little acura RSX and he said he just couldnt handle my 15"s...that made me feel good. Ill post pics of it up and down so you can see exactly how it fits up when i get home...now its just a waiting game for the amp.

LOL no offense taken...It is purely functional...no show, because i still have to pull it back out and wrap it or rhino line it...When that happens I will probably take the time to redo the boot because we did that when I was like 16-17, when my buddy still owned it...I just want to have the money to do everything quickly when i start...Id hate to redo the interior and then get a stain or a tear before I got it painted or whatever.

Thats just what I liked...Its not like it is 4wd....I dont even need a truck....Everything I own except my bed and minifridge will fit in it...It was really kinda like, why not? I dont plan on selling it unless my buddy wants to buy it back.
