You can't tell a difference on the smoothness of the paint? Mine felt like sand paper before I clay barred it, its so nice now.

Is there a place to learn how to do all this detailing work?

All my life I've lived on a farm on gravel roads.

Now that I'm away at college I want to detail my truck

Just poke around on here or other places. A good place to start is a good wash by hand and then use a clay bar, then wax it. Possibly one or two coats but it's up to you. There is probably days of reading on the web for detailing.

Btw the truck looks real good!

Meguiar's Online is a great site, they have a ton of tutorials and vidoes.

Instructional Videos has a ton of videos as well.

It is used to remove paint contaminants from paint, glass, fiberglass and metal, such as: fallout, brake dust, bugs, tar, acid rain deposits, roadway debris, hard water deposits, etc.

Bag Test -

Wash and dry your vehicle, put a plastic sandwich bag over your hand and lightly rub your fingertips over the paint. If it feels gritty or rough, your paint is contaminated.

Wax won't remove anything. I'd give the clay bar a shot and see how that helps.

Soooo clean! It was a night and day difference when I clay barred mine. Couldn't believe how smooth the paint was after. My paint is still smooth and I clay barred it in early spring.
