one helluva a deal

a 73 baja with good rims and tires, new pans, new body mounts, an IRS tranny, an extra tranny, pop outs, extra glass all around - except the windshield, two sets of headlights, two gas tanks, and a dual carb 1600 with 89.5 jugs torn apart for rebuild. the best part is that the carbs are Dell'Orto's (out of production, extremely rare, and arguably the best carbs for the aircooled horizontally opposed 4cyl ever manufactured). all for the wonderfully low price of 2 car speakers, a truck box, and an amp. in other words, for free.

anyway, enough of the tease, here are the pics,

im pretty stoked about it. my 60 will be finished as soon as my new tires get delivered tomorrow (woot!) and put my stencils on. then my OG 73 then goes under the knife for cancer repair next weekend. as soon as i get the paint on the OG finished then ill dive into the baja.

i already know exactly what ill do to it. aside from getting it running (duh) ill paint it black with a white stencil just like my 60 and slam it. i may keep the offroad tires though for ****s and giggles or throw on a set of 13" wire rims. havent decided yet.

thanks, ill have it driving within 2-3 months. i plan on having it painted by january and lowered by february. and i will update.

by the way, i also took a buddy of mine out to talking rock a few weeks ago to pick up a 65 bug for $100. we've already narrowed the front beam and remounted the body, welded on a new read apron and braced the shell for more *ahem* extreme modifications. it was abandoned in some guys yard for 30+ years, so steve is going to rock it like that. screw paint, just "slam it and jam it" is what he suggested. lame in my opinion but as long as he is happy. i think ill get some pics today.
