My First Stuck..

And it was embarassing! I was climbing some steep hills and then when I was going back to the highway I got stuck..But with all the very mild weather he have had and then it going back to below freezing temps, it made everything slick and the snow was icy, as well as the mud cover.. It was a gull ditch that my front end sunk into.. I shovelled moswt of it before the pics and couldn't get out.. so some guy on the highway with a Dodge Ram pulled over and tugged me from the rear.. tow points held up GREAT and were VERY solid..he tugged pretty hard too..

OPEN FRONT DIFF.. killed me! My rear tires had no traction that when I was in 4x4 and 4Lo they were spinning on their own with my foot off the gas and brake

I went through it about 3 times prior to that.. but I was going faster.. and then spinning my tires creating slippery ruts.. and then the last time I went through it slowly and my truck dropped in evern more.. and I couldn't go forward cuz my front tires had to climy a slipper incline and the rear had ZERO traction.. they were spinning freely on their own

as embarassing as that is, its easy for it to happen. on ice it doesnt matter how many lockers you have, youll just spin and make it worse. in the winter i keep my e-tool and a bag of kitty litter in the truck to throw under the tires for those situations. at least you got to test out your recovery hooks

ya I have 2 pieces of wood that I tried putting under the front tires but it was no use..with an open front diff anyways.. My truck is HORRID on ice, lol.. and yes that was my first test of the tow points.. and I was very pleased with them.. they work for all I need them too.. I'm not expecting them to hold up to being stuck rocker deep in mud.. just for the occasional tug from a fullsize

that does look like a little ditch, but if you do real off roading you are bound to get stuck once in a while haha, glad to see the tow points hold up man

I know what you mean about the mild temperatures and ice. The stuck doesn't look that bad but once you lose traction, dig yourself a little hole and the snow turns to ice under your tires, you're not going anywhere without something to put under your tires.

ah, you getting stuck like that isn't anything to get embarassed about... nor is it funny... we've all done it... check out this truck...

took that through a big puddle, front right tire sunk the front right headlight was close to underwater, enough that the entire passenger footwell was full of water, and the tranny tunnel barely stopped the water from coming over to the drivers side... worst of all, we realized as my buddy pulled us out, that my exgf's cam-corder was in the glove box the entire time, and we hadn't recorded ANY of it :(

she spent the next 3 days ripping out the interior to dry the carpet, oh, i should add, this truck is my exgf's and i was driving it

might i also add that between that day, and the 3 before, where we went through thick goopy mud, and steep rocky hills we (read "I") blew out her power steering rack and did some fairly severe damage to her undercarriage, including manual transmission casing, on the rocks, you can see the pool of power steering fluid under the truck in the first pic
