Picked up a cap!

I picked this up today for $50!! I think its a hell of a deal for 50. It is in desperate need of a paint job and darker tints
Where do I get the things that hold it on and what are they called? I cant find them anywhere!

Thanks, it doesnt really match up to the cab to well but I cant complain for the price. I will be sure to show you when its finished. I think I am actually going to paint it a gloss black rather than the red, so that it doesnt look like an SUV. It will help with the whole black red theme Im going for.
What do you use to mount the cap to the bed rails?

Dont quote me but Ive seen these clamp type things that hold the shell to the rail. I have them on my truxedo and when i detailed cars they had them on there too... An addition to that Ive also seen this type of foam double sided stick tape.... The only problem is that I used to have that on my bed gaurds and when I took it off it left an inprint in the paint... But as a wax it becomes lighter

the clamps you need are C clamps... and the foam, rubber gasket is what you need for the bottom of the cap... just look on the web for truck cap gasket

Nice find. I am not big on the caps that are taller than the roof, but with only the center raised it looks good.

ya I would much rather have one with a flat top and one that matches the sides of the cab, and one that has a brake light, and one that has matching paint, but again it was $50! lol so I will make it work with some tints and paint. Plus I dont think this is permanent, I put my quad in the back all the time and with a cap it would mean I have to hook up my trailer each time. i think just for when I go camping and on vacation and stuff. But depends on how it looks when Im done if its sick, then Ill leave it on
I found the clamps and the foam gasket stuff on ebay, I bought a kit comes with 30ft of the gasket tape, and 4 clamps for $29 shipped!

Now, when I go to powerwash underneath and put on the topper tape, can I stand the top up on its side? or flip it upside down? Whats the best way to access the bottom of the rails, i dont want to dammage it its fiberglass. I broke the hard top on my jeep from standing it up on its back

Not a bad looking topper, especially for $50. Nothing a little rattle can and some DIY tint won't fix.

Good find!!

lol well it is made for a ranger, just earlier years, and it does fit better than other tops I tried on that were also cheap. It has the same measurements of the bed (length x width( just different match to the cab. Its not that bad I think

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to set it upside down to power wash the inside and put the gasket tape on.

What do you think...just hand sand it with some 320 grit or scotchbright pad, and then spray paint? or primer and paint? Or should I actually buy some good paint for the paint gun? Im thinking scotchbright pad to scuff up, then spray paint, then spray paint clear
