Not a bad looking car... rental just for fun?

98liftedranger Aug 9, 2012 09:01 PM

I have never really liked them. But to each their own.

As a 4 door full size sedan built in canada and only available with an automatic trans, I disagree with calling it an american muscle car.

You seem to forget that many of the old school muscle cars were automatic. The marauder was the only other one built and it only lasted 2 years. Its a 4dr family muscle car. I still think they would be smart to offer a manual in it. It wouldn't be hard at all and the market is definitely there.

SteelDirigible Aug 9, 2012 09:52 PM

I would definitely consider a charger if a manual was available. If I'm getting a car with a V8 I want it to have a stick. Other than that, I do like them, I just hesitate to call it a muscle car.

04RangerDave Aug 9, 2012 10:48 PM

I dont like them very much mainly because of it the automatic, even the SRT8 in auto but yet the challenger is manual..?

rolsmojave3 Aug 10, 2012 08:56 AM

Hurl!

Mcleary316 Aug 10, 2012 10:20 AM

Not a fan of dodge.

wyldechild Aug 10, 2012 10:23 AM

If they could put this rear end on the first gen it would be perfect. I'm really liking the car the more I drive it.

Tys 4x4 FTW Aug 11, 2012 03:16 PM

those new chargers are nice, leaps and bounds ahead of the previous model

Jrevans2002 Aug 11, 2012 03:44 PM

I had one as a rental in 2010, the 3.5 high output. It only got about 15 mpg. I took it back for a Impala, it got about 23 mpg in the city. 4 more then my Ranger...

Not exactaly true the ctsv is still on the market. And the G8 gt are still out there if you want to drop down to an 09.

this. and you can get both with a manual.

SteelDirigible Aug 12, 2012 05:43 PM

although the CTS V is a luxury sedan.

Sonic04Edge Aug 13, 2012 11:49 AM

CTSV and the G8 are both nice cars and I wouldn't mind any of them. I just like the charger a bit more because it is more of a muscle car in sense. Cadilac never made muscle cars. They are more of a mixture of a sports car then anything. G8 given pontiac did make muscle cars back in the day. The G8 is borrowed from the Australians. So to me it isn't an american muscle car.

If I buy a 4dr "modern muscle car" it will be a charger or a marauder.

littlered Aug 13, 2012 12:33 PM

I love the look of the new chargers! I may look into getting one when i graduate in may so i can replace my piece of crap saturn

04RangerDave Aug 13, 2012 12:41 PM

If you want a muscle car get a new 5.0 or a 300 SRT

littlered Aug 13, 2012 12:49 PM

Not really looking at one just for the muscle car. Im tired of having a two door car and a 4 door car that has more "muscle" would be cool.
