Grant, did you have an edge valance you have to cut? I taped mine off and cut it with a carpet knife then did some wet sanding and sanded down where I cut as well. My dad and I are going to fiberglass some brackets on the inside tomorrow night then comes paint!

FYI: "Berry Red" valspar spray paint at lowes matches the vermillion red clearcoat REALLY well. I noticed how well it matched when I painted my front door lol.

Well, i haven't cut those 'ears' off like you did, but i want to now!! That looks way good. Too bad i already bought the 4x4 bumper that hast he spot for those 'ears' to snap into. Maybe I'll use my stocker with the modified valance.

And I'm with Billy, lets get some close ups!!

Q...your truck is the reason for me purchasing a 4/5, and wanting to build a reg cab redish/orangish steppie with the 01-03 front end with 06 corners. It is just....well....it's ****.

Here is what I'm doing to make brackets and where I cut on the valance. I sanded it down after I cut it (since I'm planning on painting it anyways) Those are water frame brackets I had lying around.. the holes were spaced out perfectly. I'm fiberglassing it to the valance and hopefully it'll hold it in place. Feel free to ask any questions, I'll be glad to help.

Sweetness. How does teh cut area look when its bolted up to the bumper? My only concern would be that it wouldn't look good...

It's flush... as long as you get brackets and tighten them up as much as possible it'll be fine. it won't be perfect, but it'll be really really really really damn close.
