Put another blue oval in the garage

My mom just got this this morning. 2001 vert with 60k miles on it. It does have the 3.8 V6 (boo) but thats really all the power she needs. Its super clean though, inside and out. This is actually the car I drove to prom like 4 years ago haha. It was owned by one of our close family friends who passed away from breast cancer about a year ago. Her husband finally decided to sell it and we were the first ones in line so we snatched it up. My moms always wanted a convertible so shes pretty excited to say the least. I'll get some better pictures later but this is about all I got for now. She already wants some new wheels for it, I'll probably order a intake sometime soon and get the windows tinted. Other then that just enjoy the thing

Good looking car. Too bad it's the V6 though.

Looks good. Glad to see they put the black headlights in too. 2001s still had the chrome ones stock right? My mom has an 02. Its not fast, but hey, it gets around fine enough for her.

Haha yeah its nice. I think all I'm gonna do now is a American Muscle intake, since its not my car I don't want to spend a ton of cash on it lol. I'd like to do a exhaust but I don't like how the pipes come out under the bumper. Maybe find a GT rear bumper with the exhaust cutouts or something but thats more money than I want to spend

The only intake worth it is the through fender kind. Pain to install, but the best you can get. It's made by MAC. It goes through the fender and has the filter between the inner and outter fender. On the 99+ most have a spash guard so its safe from water. I notice a fairly good gain in throttle response on my 04. I also had exhaust on it. If I compared performance. It was a 10 times more noticeable then exhaust. Really helped the 3k+ rpms.

On the list, I'm doing a full detail tonight. Luckily its pretty scratch free so I don't have to bust out the compound or anything. Just a clay and then wax it up real quick.

Its really not bad at all, more would be fun but this is fine. Its enough to have fun with but not get myself in trouble.

Good looking car. Those are the ugliest wheels they ever put on the Mustang, very wussy looking imo.
