new tailgate spare tire holder

new tailgate spare tire holder

So today i made a spare tire holder on my tailgate, i don't know if i really like it or not, its a bronco II spare tire mount, its bolted to my tailgate with supports made in my tailgate, let me know what you think about i don't know it i like it or not or it just has to grow on me.

Looks like you should be jumping hills lol.

Your spare will now double as a bumper. Ive never really seen one on the tailgate like that. Ive always seen them in the bed.

Does it affect your visibility any?

No it doesn't affect my visibilty at all, but i just don't know if i like it or not or i just have to grow on it.

I would ditch the stock wheel and put it on a matching rim ASAP. That would help.

I'll be honest, I don't really like it but I don't hate it either.

Can you take a pic with the tire off.

Im not familiar with the Bronco 2 spare tire holders. Does it swing? Otherwise, how do you open your tailgate?

i was gonna ask the same question. how do you open the tailgate and does the tire contact ur bumper when the tail gate is open? but then i saw the rolepan... lol but still how do you open the gate?

if i have to use the truck to carry anything i just take the tire off it only takes a minute to take it off,

i'm sure if you mounted it high enough and relocated the handle inside, you'd be able to leave the tire on too.

Do you have any pictures from the side? I kinda like it and interested in everything you had to do to complete it.

A mount from a YJ might work. Probably still need some kind of reinforcement.

Not a fan. Someone posted a link for a really bad *** tailgate/tire holder not too long ago. I think the site was called truckcandy.com?
