Icon12 Finally Pre- Keyed

So today I took the ranger to ford, they threw in the 07 keys that I got from the wrecker.
Lemme know what you think. FYI, these are not fully cranked. I gained 2 " so far. Im pretty sure they new keys yeilded me 1.25" of lift in front compared to the 08 keys and the mechanic only cranked about .75" i guess. Maybe i can get another inch out of it.

Looks good. Now all you need to do is get you a set of stock 4x4 07-under blocks for the rear or some shackles.

Thanks for the imput. I might try and go 1 more inch. Body lift goes on next month with 33s.
When my budget is stable im putting on AAL, and shackles and some bigger shocks

you brought your parts to the dealer? did they charge much or give you any issues with the install?

Holy cow that made a huge difference! Looks great. Now it's time to get some slightly bigger tires. I wouldn't suggest anything too large if it's your daily driver.

08s got a different torsion prekey to make it sit lower. The pre-key is why the 07s sat much higher from the factory; everything else was the same. The 08 4x4s sit more like the 93-94 4x4sRangers.

So the 07's are the only year with those keys?

They charged me half an hours labour. They also told me to get an allignment but I said no because i plan on cranking it 1 more inch, then i will get the allignment done.

No i could have used 98 - 07 torsion adjusters. After 07 the keys were re indexed ( I have no idea why, but i was pissed that i was screwed out of ride height!)

hey looks great... very noticeable difference huh!

personally i would go just a little bit higher, and then track down some "preblocks" to bring the rear up to match the front.. body lift, wheels, 33s and call it a day!!

AMEN to that.

And does anyone know if the 07 keys are F bars? are f bars less stiff?

I think they are one of the weakest torsion bars that were used. I could be wrong.

correct.

F bars are the softest.

#1 Bars are the stiffest bars you can get. usually on the FX4 packages and LIIs

looks good! it will settle a bit over the next few days. It will probably drop another 1/2 of an inch so be prepared for that. Get the alignment when you can, and I strongly suggest getting the camber bolts. It's a new truck man, why half *** it and possibly let the tires wear funny?

Looks real good, that's what I'm after to. Daniel what torsion bars do you have in your 08 Sport? Asking because my 2010 FX4 has #1's and was curious if I would need the 07 prekey. Or are the #1 bars with 2010 FX4 keys good to go?

Im not sure what bars i have. Uncrankable ones lol. Whtever bars come in a 08 sport 4x4.
My advice to you is to try and crank your fx4 bars first. I know the fx4 bars #1 bars are stronger but they might have been re indexed. Try and crank first, if it doesnt work you will need to pre key

Had you cranked your bars before the 07 prekeys? And ya got nothing out of them? really?

I will be trying the bar crank first for sure. Anyone else crank a 2010 FX4 yet? Or will I be the first?
