why did you paint the area that reflects the light? isn't it gonna affect the output of the lights?

From the pictures I've seen I should be ok.

Not many leave the 'reflector' portion chrome.....light output isn't much of a drop in output over stock. But it's not like it really matters anyway, on Rangers it's just a running light. Not a signal like on your mazda.

But I will say that if the reflector dipped in part is left chrome and painted the rest, at night it's looks pretty cool having just that dip lighted and the rest dimmer.

If it doesn't put out enough light for my likings, I'll do an LED swap.

LED swap would actually be worse for output... at least in that location.
