Linville was preety well blocked off, about 1-2 weeks ago they had a real bad Ice storm, like every tree is snapped off..A lot of roads still need plowing.....But hope you fun in Boone, I know them lucky basstards was getting snow, i could see it from Linville

Yeah thats my friend I gave them too.....
Linville is not overally crowded during summer, just depends on when you go (weekday, wkend). It has TONS of trails, great camping/hiking. It is big, but not really if that makes sense. I mean one end of the gorge is near Linville town (super small), the other end runs to Lake James, so people get lost a lot but its really hard, because either way you go your gonna run into some town.....
I dont see how people get lost in the NC mountains, Look on a map, there are towns everywhere or roads. There is no reason one should be lost...
