that doesnt protect anything hardly. i took mine off and never had a problem

DisturbedESV Jun 21, 2009 07:31 PM

A bunch of us are running w/o the plastic... the radiator doesn't hang as low as that plastic does so you don't really need it there unless you plan on things really getting up under your truck.

You have my dream truck before I bought the '08... jealous... maybe I missed this before but what's up with the bumper?? It's distracting... but I still love your truck!

Ford04Ranger4.0 Jun 21, 2009 07:33 PM

Looks good, I have the same problem with my stock rims

robert99ranger Jun 21, 2009 07:38 PM

Trucks looking good man. Is your rear diff leaking?

xp1ik99 Jun 21, 2009 07:41 PM

there is no way that plastic will protect your radiator, remove it now, get some rim paint from advance and paint them like my old ones just sand that crap out

poogster1985 Jun 21, 2009 07:52 PM

It looks like he may have or had a leaking transmission seal looks like the fluid ran down the driveshaft to the rearend and slung it onto the shock I had sorta the same problem with mine but it no big thang to fix.

FullThrottle02 Jun 21, 2009 08:04 PM

Your truck looks great for that many miles. I hope mine looks that good then too. The leak looks like a dif. cover or pinion seal not transmission.

robert99ranger Jun 21, 2009 08:06 PM

Looks like a pinion seal to me.

GreenGiant Jun 21, 2009 08:19 PM

Im not sure I know I have transmission fluid on the bottom of the pan. As for the diff. I think its the front seal.

Truck looks good as usual. You know you live right around the corner from my friend, or at least you do when you're in Ohio. He lives on Amy Dr.

Yellow_edge_4x4 Jun 21, 2009 10:51 PM

Amy Dr??? You ever come to bryan??

0RangerEdge2 Jun 21, 2009 10:54 PM

Yeah I'm in Bryan every once in a while. Isn't Amy Dr. in the same subdivision that you/your parents live in? I know I saw your truck back there a couple weeks ago.

Yellow_edge_4x4 Jun 21, 2009 10:57 PM

Is it called norlick place??

Yellow_edge_4x4 Jun 21, 2009 11:00 PM

its was in union place on the south side of bryan. I have a friend that lives in the subdivision.

t3ob Jun 21, 2009 11:06 PM

That was it! Haha, I saw your truck but didn't have time to stop. I'm in Bryan every once in a while though. We need to meet up still.

effexfour Jun 21, 2009 11:47 PM

Truck looks awesome especially for mileage like that! I have the same wheels and they are starting to get like that too!! what ranchos are they you have??

Fx4wannabe01 Jun 21, 2009 11:53 PM

shoot...half my trucks years of ownership was running without that ugly plastic and without a valence...and still no issues what so ever! DO IT!!

Again..the truck is effin hot. My old man almost bought a '01 xcab fully loaded w/ steppie brand new in 01, then he opted for a base model 9,000 dollar XL. :( Had he got the big truck, I'd be driving a yellow edge steppie.
