How bad were the bars?

Did you decide what you were going to do to them?

real rusty inside, the plastic step plates had rust under them and a big hole on the drivers side. going to fill the area where the step plates were with fiberglass cloth/resin, sand and paint the outside with bedliner spray, for the inside of the tubes im thinking of either using expanding construction foam or using a pull wire to drag strips of fiberglass cloth through, then fill them with fiberglass resin. if i had access to a air-powerd grease gun with a big grease supply, i could just put a grease fitting on both and fill them with grease, but imagine the mess once you did get a pinhole and it gets hot out. ive just been laid off, so ive got some time to work on them. but thats another story, working for a company that supplies parts to a japanese automaker, cutbacks due to obvious japan disaster. dont know if unemployment will be worse than reduced hours at regular pay, but i didnt get the choice. thats life i guess.
