Something fell off!

with help of some air tools and a hack saw, my front and rear sway bars fell off in the driveway. since the ranger isnt my daily anymore i decided to take them off to help my suspension work off road. I have a set of limiter straps that i need to install now.

Hop to it! I'm interested to see how this makes your truck react at the Dunes.

yeah me too, im hoping it helps. i did take it out back in the dirt and it seemed to handle the bumps a bit better but i did hear the upper control arm hit the coilover at full droop a few times. thats why i need to get those limiters on it.

Well quit driving around and get them installed! Haha

Ahh, the rangers feel sooo much better without sway bars. My Ranger and Sport Trac rode excellent in the dunes without sway bars, especially with bilsteins on the Ranger.
Although with the coilovers cranked I bet it will be a bit rough, limit straps should help some.

im considering an upgrade to the fox coilovers because the bilsteins are a bit rough but they are a huge improvement over the T-bars.

I didnt kno that they had rear bars.... mind didnt... Anyway i took my front sway bars off when i got lifted and it rode sooooo much better. you just have to re-learn taking turns b/c there WILL be body roll

mines the only one ive seen with the rear bar. its not much of a bar though, its really small. the body roll wasnt as bad as i thought it would be though when i drove it. def nothing that i will worry about.

Vonhanson 04-18-2010 08:22 PM

mine has the rear bar as well, really tiny like yours.

rstangboi 04-18-2010 09:45 PM

body roll ftmfw! good de-mod lol

Downey 04-18-2010 09:47 PM

i lost mine to a while ago it took some getting ust to driving around

brianjwilson 04-19-2010 07:08 PM

My 98 had a rear sway bar as well for what it's worth.

01_ranger_4x4 04-20-2010 04:18 PM

i just took it for a longer drive and man does it ride so much better now. i hit a couple corners fast and it def has more body roll but its not bad. no more jerking when hopping curbs and small cars. lol im going to drive it the rest of the week i think so i will see for sure how the road manners are when i get on the highway but im sure it wont be an issue.

brianjwilson 04-20-2010 05:32 PM

I use to cruise through the mountain highways in Oregon on a 3" body lift, 33s and canopy with no problems. Hell I could corner hard enough to bottom out one side and top out the other up front. The only time it can be unsettling is if you are cornering hard and hit an expansion joint or something weird.
