It is your truck, but I would watch your switch when you are running your lights. Just feel it after the lights have been on about 15 minutes and see if it is getting hot on you.

do you really want me to start laying the smack down on lighting again?
Why do you need THAT much light? You could have probably run a couple high quality HID driving lights and gotten the same effect, if not more.

you are not impressing me sorry.. and by the comments you have no one else..
Im not trying to impress anyone, im just trying to make the point that you don't have to use relays for everything. Im not overloading any components of the circuit. I know whats going on here, I understand electricity and load. Im not just some 16 year old kid wiring crap up with speaker wire (i had to rewire a friends ricer lights because he used speaker wire), I know what im doing and have had the education to back it up. If I was overloading anything it would get a relay.

I would like to add some reverse lights but I don't want them to be seen... just beams of light...

You do NOT need relays as long as the wiring and switches are designed to handle the increased load. In his case, he has both and fuses protecting it all. There is nothing wrong with the way he did it.

My 2 100w KC lights came with the wiring from KC and the instructions packaged with the lights (http://www.kchilites.com/faq/instruc...layHarness.pdf) were set up not using a relay. I figured the lighting company knows more than me so I just went on what they said. I did use my own connectors and fuse holder which are better than the ones that came from KC. Now I just got 2 more KC 130w lights and they came with a relay so I used that. My switch does get hot for the 2 100w lights but hey, I've had it on there for about 1.5 years and I haven't had any problems and I don't intend to as it's wired exactly how the instructions say.

If your circuit is built right, you are correct, it isn't a problem, but it is better to go with a relay

I don't think he's saying its bad bc you will overcurrent or powerpower your wiring, but if something WERE to go wrong, say worst case an accident leading to a shorted wire... do you want 12V with that amperage running into your dash? I don't if I can use a relay...
