new system
Sold my Alpine Type R's awhile back, and have been missing the thump since.. So I went to bestbuy with the intentions of buying 2 kicker 12" comps, since they were cheap and buy 1 get 1. The sign says "Buy any Kicker Subwoofer, get a second free", but online it says "Buy any Kicker Comp Subwoofer, get a second free". The guy working in the audio section asked me what I needed, told him I wanted 2 12" comps. He walked up the ladder/step thing, and brought down 2 12" 2ohm cvr's. I didnt say anything to him, because I wanted to see if they would ring up as buy 1 get 1. Went to the register, and he scanned them. Total came to 317$, and he looked at the register like it was stupid. So he called his manager over, and his manager told him it was only on the Comps. Well, I argued with the manager, with the employee taking my side, that the sign says "Buy ANY Kicker Subwoofer" in the store. Manager said sorry, but he couldn't do the buy one get one on them anyways. Manager walked away, the employee said "I'm sorry man, I don't wanna do that to you.". He overrode the one, and lets just say, I walked out very happy with 2 12" cvr's for the price of one.
Anyways, my dad and I built the box over the course of the last few days. I couldn't afford to carpet it, so I used a can of spray on bedliner from autozone for 8.99$ worked great and looks good too. Spent a lot of my time palm sanding and belt sanding all the edges. On to the pictures.
wired at 2 ohm's, powered by an Alpine M1000.
It fits perfectly behind my seats, and they sound great, even though I'm still breaking them in. I'll have better pictures, and maybe a video here soon. My phone takes really good pictures, but they turn to crap when I email them to myself.
