We dont fix Fords at our shop. Unless is's one of these!! lol

We normally don't work on Fords (or any domestic vehicles) at the shop I work at, just BMW's and high end European stuff. But in this guy's case we let is slide! lol It took me 10 minutes just to figure out how to slide the seat forward far enough to reach the clutch. He drives it like it was meant to be driven too, the rear wheel liners were covered with melted rubber! He got rear ended and needs new frame rails, bumper and the tips are bent so is replacing the exhaust with an aftermarket.
Excuse the slightly shady cellphone pics, I will get some better ones when its back together and cleaned up.

Nice car.

But I have to ask if the guy is getting a complimentary slap for driving the GT in the winter?

It was a little sad to see, but is all just bolt-on stuff that needs to be replaced. And with the new exhaust it will be better than new! We had a viper come in one day with only a few hundred km's on it and had a bent frame and we wrote it off. This is papercut compared to that. lol

It hasnt been driven in the winter it was damage from a few months ago that he just left for winter to have fixed, I think it even came in on a flatbed..
There is a guy in town that drives a yellow Gallardo all year round!! He has either an air or hydraulic lift in it for more ground clearance.. I cry a little every time I have seen him. They were even talking about him on the radio last year and got him to call in so they could talk to him on air.. because so many people were calling in and asking about "Lamborghini Guy" lol It was super funny.

NICE! Sometimes i miss working at a shop. You get some *** in seat time for all sorts of cool cars. It makes dealing with all the boring cars worth it to just get a chance to get some time checking out a cool exotic every so often.

I probably asked before, but what paint line do you guys use? (im a paint geek)

Standox! awesome!
I work for DuPont, specifically under the Standox and Spies Hecker lines.

Put some Platinum clearcoat on it. That stuff rocks.

EDIT - wait, i forgot. you guys are 2.1 mandated now right? no more Platinum clear for you guys. 2.1 HS it is then!

haha, I dont paint at all! we have a prep/paint department for that, once it hits 120 grit it's out of my hands! lol
From what I have seen the mercedes ceramic clear is the way to go! that stuff is bulletproof! too bad they cant do anything else right with paint, the amount of warranty paint and rust work we do on benz's is unreal!!

I miss the smell of fresh dried paint, I remember picking my truck up in May and it smelled brand new, still does, but w/o the fresh paint/wax smell ;-)

Shipping damage..... Just when you thought your brand new car was a virgin lol

Ive heard of 25 Audi R8s getting sand damaged and sent in for repair from one shipment. The shop it went to does a bunch of Aston Martins and other high end cars. Even then, 25 R8's in one place is like an orgy of awesome.

We had a big windstorm a few months ago and had about 10 brand new cars come through that got sandblasted some needed the whole side redone, paint, glass, moldings. And a Range Rover that a sign fell on. I wonder sometimes if the people who buy them even know the difference. Allot of stuff gets damaged before it makes it to the customer, even before it makes it to the dealership! lol
I think I would wet myself if I were in the presence of 25 R8's Especially if they were the V10 R8's!! haha
