Went wheeling today at Corbett

Just a few of us went. Usually the water is pretty high but it has been going down so we decided to enjoy the day. I am the only Ranger in our group that rides. Most are heeps. Whenever the jeeps get stuck good, it is up to me to get them out as the other Jeeps are too light to pull someone out of deep mud/ruts.
Lost one of the bed support brackets that came with the PA 3" Lift. I should have tack welded them in but too many guys said don't worry about it and just wrench everything down tight and they will stay. we need some action shots of that ranger. |
Looks like fun. I want to see more pictures. I wheeled out there mildly once when I lived down there, but I was almost stock when I went out so I didn't do to much.
|
It's hard to get action shots as I am sometimes the only one with a camera. I'll get some more next time out. I was hoping someone had taken the video of me pulling that jeep out. I barely had to hit the gas to pull him out.
You can always go to www.theswampthings4x4club.com to see when we are heading out. 4x4 is a definite must have for out there. |
Very nice! I wish they allowed ATV's, I'd be there all the time :)
I'm in broward btw |
nice looks like fun

Whats the cost to go wheelin out there and is there any specific rules I should be aware of? Do you just enter from Pratt and Whitney just north of north lake?
|
BMX,
You can get an annual wildlife management area pass for $27 at Walmart or it's $6 everytime. To get there you take Northlake to Seminole Pratt then north on Seminole Pratt til you get to the entrance about 2 miles down. They have maps at the box where you pay. It's a huge area so the best thing to do is usually just hook up with a group like ours that will show you the ropes and trails. During hunting season you can go on all the trails. After hunting season we are confined to a few trails but they are some of the best ones. By December it should be pretty dried up. In the last month, 3 of our guys have swamped their rigs. |
looks like a fun time

Here is one other pic that was a little far off but is an action shot of the Ranger. Deep ass ruts. Didn't get stuck as I straddled them the best I could. Still sloppy though.
