What I have been doing:

Since I havent been on in awhile since my focus went to my 06 VW GTi for awhile I figured I would come back on and do some posting and see how its going.

May as well post some of the updated work we did on my GTi for fun:

Car has 29k Miles - Mod below:
Revo Stage 2+
AWE HPFP(high pressure fuel pump)
New motor
New K03 turbo
Port and Polished Turbo
Full Turbo Back Exhaust
Nuespeed intake
Full H&R coil overs and sways
Eurosport Downpipe and stress bars
Forge DV and spacer

Dyno'd 301whp/322wtq on stock turbo.

Basically we changed the tuning all together, did some turbo work on the car and made some of the highest stock turbo numbers seen so far.

Some pics:

Coil over action:

Has been a fun ride,, currently finishing up getting supporting mods for a bigger turbo.

Anyhow as for my Rengar,

We are looking at getting some 15x8s and maybe selling or trading the alcoas.

Replacing my trucks trans since the guy who did my clutch was a friend but forgot tranny fluid so the bearings inside are going bad fast.

Looking at some V-8 swap action then making it Forced Induction.

Figured i would hop back on and say hi. ha

I think they used a Nikon D40 with 30 second exposures.

That sucks. The plates given to military personnel over there are white but the blue square in the corner has "USA" written on it instead of the "D" for Deutschland. I hear they've changed it though, because soliders with USA on the plate were getting attacked.

Nice GTI. I'm sure I asked before, but how did you kill the first engine? Overboost and send turbo piece through the engine or something? How much boost are you actually making right now on the stock turbo?

First motor went to a Low Oil Pressure that was poorly dealt with by the dealer.. so then i could hold compression and they had to replace it under warranty for free, turbo included as shaft play developed with no oil pressure.

Right now on a K03 I am spiking out at 27psi and coming down from there. Usually in the mid 20s though.

Lame. Any idea what caused the oil pressure issue?

I still kind of wished we bought a GTI instead of the Subaru some days. Sure seems like overall build quality was better on our 03 Jetta than it is in the Subaru.
Oh well I know with a few mods I can make a butt load of power with the Subie and get the power to four wheels.
I had traction issues with a mostly stock VR6 and high performance 225s.

Those are pretty decent numbers from a 2.0L at elevation though. I just can't imagine getting that much power through FWD very well.
What are you running for tires?

Yeah but I like the STis/WRXs over the Leggies but hey i have seen some mean leggies. Easier and cheaper to make fast too.. I have a ton of friends with Subies and am on some of the forums with them. Fun cars for sure.

Yeah I am looking at 245/40/R17s for traction.. for track though I have some 225/45/R17 Hoosier R6 road race slicks.

And the balancing shaft setup went bad causing oil issues.

301/322 are SEA numbers though.

And i run 225.45.R17s the motor mounts and suspension and some stock lsd (it sucks but oh well) have helped some but i need a real LSD and some bigger meats. Right now I run the BFG KDWs.

At the time we didn't want a WRX since it is my wife's daily driver. Felt like they stand out too much, especially when modified.
We though about GTIs a lot but didn't want one that we liked. Then my wife decided she wanted four doors again.
The plan was/is to buy a legacy and have more a sleeper that doesn't turn heads too much. I don't care that it's bigger and heavier, I have no plans to track it.

I want to get a bigger turbo (there is a guy putting 20g's in stock housings for fairly cheap), bigger top mount IC, catted down pipe, bigger fuel pump and injectors. I've seen a lot of dyno charts showing around 315/365 on 93 octane with similar setups, and quite a bit more on E85. But then with that it needs a stronger clutch, then you might as well swap a 6 speed instead of the 5 speed, stronger rear diff with torsen, blah blah blah you know that story...

Probably in a year or two I'll get a downpipe to go with the magnaflow exhaust, maybe a bigger intercooler, tune it on a dyno, and install a short shifter and firmer shift bushings. Lowering springs and konis, bigger sway bars, 18x8s and 235/40s. Should be enough to keep my pleased when I drive it, and be comfortable enough for my wife as a daily.

I want to mod it now so bad, but since it's an 08 with plenty of warranty I'm spending money on the truck.

I would get a 20g, his a blouch though with larger housings.
