john93rangerstx 11-26-2008 09:15 PM

what ever works for you good luck with it

whippersnapper02 11-26-2008 09:20 PM

I'm actually thinking about getting rid of my Ranger and I wouldn't mind driving a box. Well I would hate that it doesn't move but at least it wont need crap every month and I can actually seat more than 2 people. Oh don't forget all the squeaking and clunking from my truck would be gone.

davidw 11-26-2008 09:20 PM

im messing with you bro.lol trucks arnt for everyone. i wouldnt have one if i didnt need it, im sure your situatuion is the same. totally understandable man!.lol

whippersnapper02 11-26-2008 09:23 PM

I know your kidding. I'm just mad at my truck right now. It finally rained out here and the squeaking stopped but a new startup noise made it's debut.

davidw 11-26-2008 09:30 PM

is it a belt squeaking? mine does that if i start it when its cold or wet... i put wax on my belt, or even chapstick... totally helps no joke! whats the noise?

whippersnapper02 11-26-2008 09:33 PM

It's like adding belt dressing but no its a bearing type of noise. I'm sure I need a new idler pulley and tensioner.

davidw 11-26-2008 09:35 PM

that sucks.... post a new thread on it and get better advice then just me and see what you can come up with.

whippersnapper02 11-26-2008 09:35 PM

Oh I know that's the problem. It's common and I have 115K miles.

davidw 11-26-2008 09:39 PM

oh ok. if you want some encourage ment, i had a 95 ranger 4.0l v6 4x4, it was a beat up farm truck that followed ptotatoe trucks, had over 300k on it before we traded it in, all stock, no repaire, sounded like crap, ran good tho, made terrible sounds, but ran for over 3000,000 miles til i got a new one

GR8COM 11-26-2008 09:51 PM

I would have more respect for you if you would have gotten a Honda Element because that is a much better looking box.
