Rebuilding question.

Ok guys i have an 87 Ranger with the 2.3 and a 5-speed now what i need to know is i want to put over sized pistons in how big can i go?

.30 over ive seen pistons ranger from .10-.30 over so yeah you could go .30 over

I would go with whatever the machine shop says the cylinders need. .30 over pistons in a 2.3 is not going to do much unless u raise compression and head work and if the engine scars a clyinder or something and its been bored to the max you have to find another block, i see it all the time at the engine machine shop i work at...
