1997 xlt THERMOSTAT
Hello, I have a 1997 XLT and recently my heat died and my truck started over heating. I looked for leaks but couldnt find any. So im pretty sure its the thermostat. But today when i was searching for ways to get to the thermostat and replace it i could not find a single helpful piece of information. So i was hoping that somone on here has done a thermostat before and did it anything shy of removing the fan and the radiator just to be able to fit a wrench on the housing. If someone could tell me how they did it or can give me a good link i would appreciate it A LOT!
Thank you,
Zac
Thank you,

follow your upper radiator hose to the engine, remove the hose from the engine, remove the 2 bolts that hold the piece the hose goes into and pull the thermostat out......if your truck quit heating and is overheating, i would look more at the water pump....a thermostat is designed to stick open so your engine doesnt overheat...
