2.3 turbo

well, we found a thunderbird turbo and parts for a good price, it includes Exhaust mani, turbo, intake, injectors, mass air and distributor and maybe a few more things.

I have alot of turbo know how but don't know much about rangers (it is my friends ranger)

what i need to know

-what is the fuel cut for the 2.3 in the 1994 ranger (if there is a fuel cut, i know imports have them)

-what is safe boost on stock internals

-what tuning equipment is needed (safc, emanage, or just a FPR)

i knwo turbos, i just don't know rangers so you don't have to baby talk me, lol

I don't know anything about turbo'ing a ranger, but I know there is another forum, I think turborangerforums, that could get you all the information you need...although someone that can actually help you may chime in later.

You really should just buy the Tbird 2.3 as a whole...computer and all. They've got forged pistons and rods and guys building those engines on the cheap are always after finding a wrecked or junked Turbo Coupe for it's internals. That's actually what my brother bought last year....wrecked 86 turbo coupe and nabbed it's shortblock for it's rods and pistons.

Since I assume you're working on a '94, you can run all the Tbird computer crap and still be a running and driving, properly tuned beast. But...a stock Turbo Coupe 'beast'. Guys get 300 wheel hp out of them with minimal upgrades.

But as mentioned earlier, the group of guys over at TRF(TurboRangerForums.com) are a great group of guys with tons of knowledge and tons of info already posted up there.
