2.3 Lima E85?

Hey guys, I was at the gas pump the other day, and I couldn't help but notice how much cheaper E85 was that regular unleaded gasoline (I live in St. Louis, Missouri btw)..

I wasn't sure if any of you guys have ran your 2.3's on E85 or if there is a conversion kit for it?

from what I understand it is just more corrosive resistant fuel lines, and maybe a better fuel pump??

I have not tried running it yet in fear of damaging my engine (even though these things are indestructible)

I was curious of what you guys thought about it or have tried it?

any input is much appreciated,

Thanks

Tom

^ Ditto, 3.0s are the only engines that came in Flex fuel for the rangers. I'm unsure of years but know its on some 98+ models.

Actually, the 2.3L turbo guys play with it quite a bit. Because ethanol burns a good bit colder than regular petroleum, it is popular for very high boost applications (usually seen with HX35 or bigger turbos running 30psi+). Although water/meth injection or separate race gas tunes are more popular, guys are pushing 10s on E85 with daily drivers.

Of course, at that point they are all running some sort of tuning program and have their trucks tuned to it. It's mostly seen as an alternative water/meth injection. Me personally, if I ever push over 25psi on an HX35 I'm going with ethanol. All you do is tune for it and fill it up, just have to watch those o-rings and fuel lines.
