2.3 na starts and dies
Hi all I am new to the forum.
I just bought a sand rail with a 2.3 ford efi na in it. Every time I turn it on it starts and runs for a second or two then dies. Checked fuel has plenty of pressure I also flushed the tank out. No change still does the same thing. I not sure what else to check oils it be wiring, egr, or iac? Any help would be great thanks!!! |

Change on my 2.3 and took the air filter box off and it would run for a second a die because to much air . Once I put it back in it was fine. Hope I didn't waste your time lol |
Do you know what year the engine is?
does it have a distributor? On some models with distributors and one coil, the coil gets full battery power during startup then switches to 1/2 battery power via a resistor wire or Ballast Resistor. You can try running a jumper wire from battery + to coil + and then see if it stays running, if it does then resistor is bad. This is just for some single coil engines, coil packs get full battery voltage 24/7 with key on. |
