I am wanting to know the weight of either one of these engines and all of their accessories. I have heard many conflicting numbers, from 300 pounds all the way up to 450 pounds. If anyone happens to know the weight difference between a normal 2.3 and the turbo 2.3 I would like that as well. I am working on a project where weight is a serious issue, almost more than power.

 

i don tknow the exact weight of them, but the 2.0 and 2.3 are the same block and heads, so they will weigh the same. all the turbo motor has for added weight is the turbo itself and an oil feed and return line. the accessories you use will also obviously change how much they weigh, but there are all 3 different combos from only waterpump and alternator, to waterpump alternator and powersteering, to waterpump alternator powersteering and A/c. obviously the one with A/C is gonna weigh a good amount more, but the P/S pump doesnt add too much weight. either way all 3 of those engines and combinations will be within 50-100 lbs of eachother, most of the weight from the A/C compressor and such. the turbo only adds maybe 50 pounds AT MOST with all of its associated parts, the turbo itself is only like 5-10 pounds.
