89 danger ranger

found a 89 4wd reg cab ranger.has a 4cyl with 161,000.what would it need maintenance wise?and how long do these motors last when taken care of?thanks

Well its gonna need its regular fluid serviced and what not. Things like spark plugs, wires, battery, air filter, etc...

Any engine can last a lifetime if its well maintained. Just listen for things such as ticks, pops, and dings. Telltell sings that something is off.

Any like always things are going to break so those will have to be replaced.

what should the timing belt be changed at?and what kind of fuel mileage should it get?thanks

Not sure about the timing belt, you might be able to find that in the owners manuel. As far as gas mileage if everything is working ok I would say 17-18 city and over 20 for the highway. That is a lowball estimate for both. I am really not to sure but 4cyl usually get pretty good gas mielage.

ya should be about time for timing belt.. do plugs, wires, belt, fuel filter, .. stuff like that for starters

no not really just keep the oil changed and dont rag on it and she will do ya well... heard of 300k+ on them before...

is that one EFI carb cap and rotor or coil pack? i honistly cant remeber..

i know my 93 got around 25+mpg when it was stock.. now with 32's i get around 20-21...

well i bought it.drove it 2.5 hours home.runs good has 161,000 miles hasn't burned any oil yet.cruised at 75 pretty easy.4wd works good.and only paid 500$ for it.has a little rust above rear wheel wells and front of hood.need to get that fixed before it gets worse.inside is like new.can't figure out how to post pics or i would
