power steering whines

power steering whines
still have power steering, but pump whines, could it be going?

Have you checked the fluid level ?

Belt tension ?

I took the truck out the shed, and while driving to my driveway, it started turning hard, I looked later and blew the return line, it ran dry while I was driving it, so maybe that ruin it.

When you repair it throw a bottle of Motorcraft friction modifier in it. My power steering is almost silent

Friction modifier in the power steering FTW

it sounds like the system has air in it...fill it full, turn the wheel lock to lock about 10 times while driving slow. turn the truck off for 5 mins then repeat

It's a Ford, all of the power steering pumps whine. Never owned one that didn't.

Just tell everyone you have a supercharger.

Mine actually doesn't whine unless I hold it fully turned.

supercharger sounds good...it has quiet down, but the whine was loud, any way thanks for info guys...

I there another brand of friction modifier that might be available from Advance Auto Parts?

Probably but I'd recommend Motorcraft. Dealership or online, it's not expensive.
