MAF reading 0.0 IAT reading -40 constant

So my Maf is reading constant 0.0 and throwing a code. Right before this happened it was reading a constant 13.5+ when working correctly atleast to my knowledge idle was around 3-4. Also my IAT is reading a constant -40 however.... The code being thrown is telling me the value is to high... Which to my knowledge -40 is absurdly low. When I start my car at first it idles fine and the car will hesitate then die if gas is applied. However I let it die and will restart the engine and magically it works fine as if nothing is wrong. The readings do not change for the sensors but I'm assuming the problem is because they are off

Now the sensors were working fine but I ended up blowing a plug out of the hole and I didn't think about it at first but I left the plug wire plugged in and hanging... After the issue started I also then thought... "That was a lot of energy looking for a point of contact just running wild in a box full of contact points" could this have struck the sensor killing it? Would it just read 0.0 though or would the sensor just be throwing random numbers.... Could it have hit the computer and if so would there be other side effects and not just those 2 sensors. I believe the IAT sensor was reading faulty prior to this though.

Its very helpful to post the YEAR of the Ranger?

I assume 2.3l or 2.5l 4cyl because of sub-forum
I assume its fuel injected because of the sensors mentioned

-40 is the default temp, so unhooked

0.0v means MAF is unhooked, as far as computer is concerned

Depending on the year the MAF, IAT, ECT and TPS all share a common 5volt wire

MAF sensor has a HEATER inside, that's the 13.5v, engine running, you were reading, heater has 2 wires, 12v and ground
MAF sensor uses 5volt range, on the 2 other wires

If you are getting codes what are the EXACT CODE numbers
