Does your ranger do this?

YouTube - Ranger 2.3L compressor short cycle

'96 2.3L

When I first crank it up, the A/C compressor cycles on and off every 2-3 seconds. This will go on for about a minute and then stay on until I actually start driving. After driving for a bit, it will start to do it again for a while, then stay on.

It used to do this constantly, and I thought it was low on refrigerant, so I just had it checked by a trusted mechanic and he told me it was about 20% lower than it should be, so he fixed that. Now instead of it being constant, it acts like this.

Is this normal?
